Manufacturers seem to get better at making people to change their ride without any good reason. They make superb design, sometimes intentionally leak spy pics, do a redesign on a product, which is already doing well to make the customer feel that their product is outdated, basically they use every trick in the book to make us want more! Customization trend too is catching up, once bitten by the customization bug there is no stopping, endless number of products claiming to make your ride look and perform better and hitting the market everyday.
BUT, in reality most of us don't need any kind of upgrade in the first place, getting a superbike/dream bike can be given exceptions, since some things come too close to our heart to make logical sense out of it, but in general other upgrades rarely make any sense and never quenches the thirst for more than few months!
I overcome this by having two wish list, one which is a proper wish list, with bike I really wish to have, another with bikes which I really don't need or may not make sense to my kind of usage.
Actual wish list:
1. Yamaha RD350, reason : wish to taste the ultimate 2 stroke sold in India, depreciation wont be too much if maintained properly.
2. Triumph Daytona 675, reason : I just love this awesome machine, I love it so much that I would choose it over any other bike on the planet.
3. Wish to own one of the coolest RX135 in the country, reason : Always wanted to have one customized bike, but have limits for it.
other list changes everyday, I just strike everything off it once in a while and have a clear mind to enjoy my current rides.
So, how do you guys overcome this unwanted urge, which usually creates a stressful mood sometimes.

One good example is that I am more into touring now a days, and wish to go on trackdays, but I SERIOUSLY wanted to get a Vespa just because it looks like a piece of art! Now why would I want to have one ?
would having 20 bikes in my garage make sense? surely not, I would go crazy just to keep track of their maintenance schedule.
I just wanted to know it from different POV! Trend seems to be changing, there was a time when people would change their ride only if it couldn't be repaired anymore, then people started changing their ride once it started to give headaches and now we seem to change as soon as something good comes along. Is this trend a good thing? surely is a debatable.
