CO setting up means setting up the Air Fuel Ratio.

A Digital machine is linked to your exhausts' pipe, as below the bike, there's a hole for it.
This pipe takes in the exhausted fumes while the engine is running at idle rpm, and measures the Carbon Dioxide (or Carbon Monoxide) to determine whether your bike is running Rich or Lean.

A bike running rich pumps in more fuel than the optimum ratio (air is lesser). Hence, it will pump out more CO. Such a bike will give less mileage & performance.
A Lean bike runs less fuel than the optimum ratio (air is more). This kind of bike will overheat, stall a lot, etc. even if it gives slightly more mileage or performance.

A screw on the carb will be used to adjust the CO upto a certain extent, so that it remains optimum. The optimum ratio is around Air:Fuel::14:1. It can be different too depending on the usage and environment.

If you have the DTSi, you can get the CO checked at your Bajaj Service Station. It will take 10 minutes and some cash (not more than 50-100 rupees).

Hey Guys i have a doubt here!
What is exactly a Free Flow Exhaust
Is it a Performance Mod Mainly
      or a Audio Mod Whatever!

I `ve read many times About K&n Filters
      What are Those

i Know FFE`s increase the exhaust note of the bikes!
Are they legal in India Particularly in mumbai!

free flow exhausts don't have decibel cutter and the filters inside them. therefore improving acceleration and the exhaust note. however local FFEs spoil the engine as there is no back-force in it. takes a toll on the valve. anything above 9db is illegal in india...

Are you sure about the 9db value.. i think it should be some where 90db..

i'm sorry i typed 90 but i guess the 0 didn't make it. it's 90 decible. But i don't think you would face any trouble as above 90 decible many things happen in india.

@rannet-bro you said that local FFE'S spoil the engine as there is no back force in it.what does this back force means??& do exhausts other than FFE's also harm the engine??& what is the advantage of K&N air filter over the oridnary air filter??
please shed some gyan on it.
              thanks

regarding k&n airfilter, it's already discussed here. Please go through this thread. Using a local free flow is like not using any. The entire output from the engine is directed out without keeping any back force on the engine valve which is very important. The back force is a resistance power generated by the exhaust on the engine to maintain a proper balance between the inflow and outflow of air pressure inside the engine. Which is why performance freeflow exhaust by branded companies are so expensive and bike specific. Using bike specific fre flow or performance exhausts won't affect your bike.. But local one's will.. Not immediately, but steadily.

                    1. ecu is only present in bikes with fuel injection mechanism like pulsar220 dtsfi, r15, zmr, rtr fi, stunner pgmfi and so on. It is the brain of the entire fi system. Determines afr at every point of the rpm range and load on the engine. Sane riding can deliver mileage better than carb bikes and insane riding can deliver performance without any power drop.
                    2. Bore is one of the determinants of engine power in cubic capacity(cc). Bigger the bore, higher the engine cc. There's a formula to calculate bore posted already in this thread earlier.please go through.
3.cylinder head work is also known as porting. It is briefly redesigning the head chamber for better performance. It is best explained in wikipedia.

its given on page 5 that K&N filters increase the air flow to the carburator & to compensate the increased air flow main jet is replaced by bigger jet so does this means that bigger jet would take up more fuel?then wouldn't the fuel consumption will be more??
                      thanks..

with any performance airfilter., the afr changes. You can run on richer mixture without harming the engine. And richer mixture means better throttle response and lower fuel efficiency.

As far as I know, such a modification, even if successful is going to screw up the handling, ride height and the front braking of the Pulsar.

If you want to do so, it might not actually happen, because the wheel has some washers inside (I don't know the exact name) and their grooves (where these washers fit) in both the bikes' wheel, should match equally which is rare.

Even then, chain-sprockets differ among both the bikes, so you can safely conclude that its not feasibly possible...

I suggest you fit a big tyre directly on the rear wheel of the Pulsar. Keep the tube intact and you can use these tyres:

                              MRF Zapper-C 120/80x17
                              MRF Zapper 140/70x 17
