Many of the 390 riders might have experienced this daily, yes you guessed it right. Its the heat generated, the inability of coolant to cope up with the heat and constant running of fan in city due to this. Rc owners have it even worse. Their fan kicks in earlier than dukes, so no matter how hard you try, it will keep on spinning.
From what i know, duke/rc has the most cheapest coolant i.e ethylene glycol and water mixed in 50:50 ratio. This is good, but then it has silicates, which will eat out the gasket of waterpump eventually. Also the cooling isnt that great.
So that led me to search for some options used by big bikes, and me and my friend found out that most people are using engine ice, water wetter, vw g13 premix, and honda type 2 coolant.
Experts, please opine on these products, also other sbk owners can chip in with their experiences.
The point of starting this thread is to discuss various coolants tried by folks here, there positives and negatives, and not let it miss out in the respective bikes thread.
