  • REFLECTIVE TAPE on bikes/helmets/jackets (Ways to maximize visibility)

    Hi,
Does anyone out there use reflective tape like these on their gear or bikes to increase visibility in the dark from different angles?

I feel they'd be a very useful addition to our gear because they shouldn't cost any more than Rs. 20-100 for a metre of two of tape.

    Opinions? Sources in Bangalore?

    Thanks.

Hey its a very good idea indeed ! As of i know, none of the current bikes have enough reflecting stuff, especially side reflectors. I think RX 100 and 135 are the only bikes with side round reflectors, which are very useful especially on dark stretches. We can easily get 3M reflectors in any automobile shop. J C road is best source in bnagalore.

      Cheers

Thanks, I'll surely try these out.
I'm considering sticking a few lines of these on my backpack too, since the back of my jacket with its thin reflective lines is often covered by my bag.

Also, I'm kinda aesthetically challenged, so, if anyone out there who's done a decent job sticking reflective tape could post her/his creations, it'd be of great help.

Hi Visibility Rim Stripes/Tape and Small Helmets

I bought a black Gixxer (naked) recently and I wanted to put rim stripes on it to make it more visible at night. The stores near me don't really have anything that is reflective. I'm looking for something like this.

Any ideas on where I can get them (orange or light blue)? I found this on Amazon but I'm not sure about them.

I'm also looking for helmets which will fit my head (54cm) and I can't find any here. I found this website for LS2 Helmets in India but I'm not sure if it's authentic. Here's the link Official LS2 Website Any idea where I can get them? (I want Full Faced helmets and the small Vega ones don't inspire much confidence :P)

P.S.: Do any gixxer owners have a problem with the gears sometimes getting stuck and not shifting down?

New biker. I've got waay too many questions :P.
                  Thanks!

Found this on another thread for rim tapes. Kind of expensive but they seem to be very good.

Any idea which color would be best for a black Gixxer?

                    Still looking for helmets though

For rim stripes, go to a decent number plate guy. They have machines that will cut the tape in perfect dimensions.

For reflective tapes for helmets, etc. you can buy 3m reflective tapes off Amazon.

I've been using the 3M reflective tapes on my rims, mirrors, helmet and stuff from quite a few months now and it is very, very effective and useful.

I believe bikes with reflective colors like white, yellow, orange, green etc would be easily spotted at night, resulting in better safety.
