• Weight and height effect

Hey guys,

i m kundan ghanekar. I own Honda cbr 150 and enjoy its ride. It weighs 127 kg. i weighs 68 kg and my ht is 5 ft 8 in. I want to ask that how much my weight and height effects my riding . Also which are the bikes which i can ride....
I m not comfortable with the heighted bikes like hunk or cbz because of there weights. After i sit on the hunk, it is very difficult for me to place my both legs on ground and move bike backwards.

Cbr is comfortable for me but i want to know are there are any other bikes which have lot of power and qlso in my range.

p.s. Its just a query, dont want to buy bike right now..

rgds,
kundan

Yes height and weight do play a role in handling a bike. But at the level that most of us ride at, the difference is negligible. You are not comfortable as yet, once you spend a few km with any of those bikes you will find it no different than your current bike.

Regarding pushing the bike back, i have often seen shorter riders get off the bike and push it back because they don't want to risk dropping it. There is always a solution and your weight or height should not be a deterrent for you to ride most bikes
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: Weight and height effect

5'8" isn't short and your weight is just about normal for us Indians. You can ride most of the bikes easily.

I don't think you should be too much worried about all this.

I am 5'10" and 85kgs and my fz-16 does 100km/h easily on and reaches there quickly, while i have seen many struggling to do so with their bikes.
What i mean by this is that for our normal riding, the effect are negligible (unless the rider is really heavy).

Ride safe and have fun.

Height and weight don't necessarily affect the rider's ability, . . It's all in your head. . . I, being 5'7" have ridden almost all of the bikes and never had a problem with the height issue, though there are some (MANY) bikes in which I am able to place just one leg completely and some just letting my touch my toes. The only time you'll find difficult is, When you need to push the bike reverse. . . Once on the move, all these things are forgotten. . .

PS: Know a friend of mine who has a Triumph Tiger, is barely able to place one leg properly on the ground but still the way is riding is just way too good . . .

Cheers!!!

And thanks for replies to Rakesh Rok nadz11.ns.
i know that it didnt effect on riding a bike. But bike like TB 350 or 500 or bullet 350 or 250 are more than 200 kg. if on the runway, if this bike drop, i have to call someone to help me with bike....
thats why i never take trial of these above bikes as i m scared if i loose control, then may be i met with a accident or do a lot of damage to the bike.

rgds,

and then there's a way to lift these bikes if you ever happen to drop it , check out the links I have shared,

Speaking about the 390, HELL YEAH, that's got some crazy amount of power in it . . .

Cheers!!!

thanks rakesh. This really helps. Also i m not going to buy 390 as if i dont control power, weight is not a issue for any kind of trouble. I m happy with my 150.

Re: Weight and height effect

I was not sure before I got mine. Am 5'2" and ~47 KGs. I ride a CL350. Never faced any problem w.r.t handling it.
