  • Sigma Sport Bike Computers

Has anyone seen or used any of the Sigma Sport bike computers? Are they more accurate than the bike's speedo and tripmeter? I was looking at the site and found the small gadget pretty handy, since I don't usually wear a wrist watch when riding. Also, is it easily detachable? I leave my bike unguarded at night, so would prefer removing it at the end of the day.

Just looking for an accurate data logger for my trips.

They are accurate if calibrated properly. Sigma bicycle computers are easily detachable and you can take it with you, only the base stays on the bike.

If you want a datalogger look at GPS based devices.

Thanks Sankar. I was looking for something cheap and found many good deals on a website. Are the easy to install on a spoke rim? Any links or first-hand experience is welcome.

I have been using a Sigma since close to 2 yrs now. You need to properly calibrate to use it and its a very handy device.
What I would do is set the value based on comparitive checks on the speedgun.
Once we had the chance of checking its accuracy on the V-Box. My Friend who works at Overdrive got the GPS and w tested my Group D spec RTR with the Sigma on the bike.
The V-box recorded a true top speed of 124kmph in some 800mtrs while my Sigma showed 123.7kmph. Its all in calibrating it to show the right value.

Of course!! How could I forget seeing the little device on the Super Fiero!! Joel, do the magnates stay tight once fixed? I read a recommendation to change to rare earth magnets. And where did you fix the pair of magnet-sensor? Spoke and forks? If you have a pic, pls do post.

you dont need rare earth magnet, although yes its an added advantage.
I fixed the magnet on the wheel disc. Then the sensor is kepy about 2mm away from the magnet, in a way that it does not foul with any other runing parts.

Which bike is this for? You can glue the magnet to the hub (if drum front brake) or the disc carrier. Use araldite to glue the magnet, it will stay there. The pickup can be glued to the fork leg, with a rare earth magnet a wider gap wouldn't be a problem.

If you're buying a new one i suggest you get the BC1106 as it is only marginally expensive than the popular BC800 and also has a ROM chip which will retain the values (including a non resettable odo) even if the battery drains out.

I was looking forward to buy a BC1106 (had a BC800, Killer's, but it stopped working) but instead i'm getting a Trailtech Vapor since a friend wants to sell it off.

I am doing this on a CBZ*. The product BC906 has been ordered on ebay US. Couldn't find BC1106, so will fit this on friend's bike (Ambition). Waiting for the dealer to procure it.

Any ideas about the price for getting the Vapor Digi Gauge in India?

Price seems high compared to ebay, but thanks for the info.
