[Photo Feature]: Best and worst roads we have been on
So, most of us have taken our two wheels to various corners of our country. A lot of off-roading and smooth highways later, we are wiser by a few thousand kilometres. We might have left the roads behind us but the memory is still there in our mind. There were some roads which were challenging, some were super smooth and some were very irritating to ride on. Can we share what was the best and the worst road we have ever been on our bikes? And can we also share a road which we still have not been on yet personally but dream to be at some point of time? And if possible some pictures?Last edited by krishna77; 05-20-2015, 12:59 PM.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Thread Approved
Roads whether good or bad are nothing but inanimate strips that we ride on. For me it is the people we meet and the food we eat that actually make up the ocean of experiences.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Best and worst roads we have been on
I have been to Thattekere a place 50 kms from bagalore. We started at 8am on a Sunday morning. The starting road was filled with trafic and then later after bommasandra the road became bad and after a point there was no road. It was loose gravel and also little rocky at times. But it was a good ride and we were a good 9 members on 9 bike. We rode around 50 to 80 kmph on an average. But it was still fun with all of us riding through and following each other on the road, We had a leader which will signal for any potholes or guttur in the road or a slippery area and each one behind follows them for the later riders to be careful and again signaling to the one behind. All together we enjoyed the ride .

Re: Best and worst roads we have been on
Within my relatively short riding experience, I have found the road to Hemnagar from Lebukhali the most enchanting one. It's almost a dead end of the country with very limited connectivity available. It might not be a very big road but, with almost smooth tarmac complimented with lush green paddy fields on both the sides - makes you want to go back time and again.
The worst road according to me is a 7-8 km stretch between Uluberia and Gadiara in Howrah district. Went there a few months back with xBhp team members. Took us around 30-35 minutes to cover that stretch. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that.
The road in India I ever aspire to be on is the stretch between Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi.
And of course the Seven Mile Bridge in Florida.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Re: Best and worst roads we have been on
Bad roads are part of any road journey & without them, the ride & the journey are totally worthless; often more, these bad roads do not last for ever like the tough times in life.

Ya konta and sukma highway are extremely dangerous naxalite area so roads are not good. Naxalite cut the roads or dig up the roads and it's not safe to travel in these areas at night.Originally posted by chakresh View PostThe worst I travelled was a road on the borders of telangana..chhattisgarh..orissa,connecting between konta and sukma ,it was an 80 kms stretch which took 8 hrs to complete.

Re: Best and worst roads we have been on
The Best roads were the express highways of gujarat, right from maharashtra gujarat border, till the Rann of Kutch
On an average most of the roads on the Leh-Manali highway are bad, but the Keylong to Manali stretch, particularly the climb upto the Rohtang pass is downright miserable, I have never had to get off my bike to push it along before, or after this experience...
