Engines of Duke 200 & Pulsar 200

Hi Guys,TVSian here...

I have a small doubt with me.As One thing that kept me thinking is the Why The Pulsar series kept using that same engine from the First Generation Pulsar 150 and all the way to the Pulsar 220F today.They just tuned it for more power on each revision.So when KTM Came up,Boom,Pulsar 200 dies and the NS was born so I thought something was very fishy because It dosen't take 15 years to design ONE Bike Engine.So as soon as Duke 200 came,NS also came so The Question is...

Are the Engines of Duke 200 & Pulsar 200 basically the same (NS was Carbed whereas D200 was FI'ed) ?

I guess you haven't been following the development of Bajaj bikes thoroughly. KTM and NS share only the bottom of the engine and head/combustion chamber is completely different. One has a single spark system while the other has 3!

Also, P200 wasn't dropped due to KTM, but because the updated P180 made just as much power and 200 made no sense (apart from being the best looking Pulsar till date).
BTW, most companies follow the same tactic. Do you think RTR 160 and Fiero 150 have entirely different engines?
