    When can you expect Final DL (MH State) after the driving test?

    Hello there,
    Welcome!! This is my first thread!

    I have a query about the DL.

    I cleared the driving test for Final Permanent Driving License (2 wheeler and 4 wheeler) two days back at RTO Kalyan (MH State).

    RTO officials had no clue when I will receive the plastic Smart Card by post...some officials say in a week some say it takes 2+ months!!

    I know the receipt (counter foil) i got when submitting the DL application would be valid as a license to drive for two months but I have to leave India in a month and wish I would get the license before I leave)

    I want to know from the recent applicants of MH state, when did they got the courier of Smart card after passing the Driving test??

    (I searched extensively old threads to know about the time delay in receiving the DL, but to no avail, so asking this exclusively!
    Please feel free to share when you got your DL from the different states of India.)

    No idea about MH, but it takes around 3 weeks in KA.

      Thats strange...I got mine 3 days after my DL test . Courtesy of my driving school for LMV.

        There is always some or the other strike going on in the smart card production back offices, so don't be worried or surprised if it takes more than the two months. The challan is valid even after the official stamped date as the traffic cops know this problem. The great Indian bureaucratic comedy is improving but there is still plenty of room for improvement...
