  • Difference between Gas Reservoir Suspension and Inverted Gas reservoir suspension?

Hi, I just wanted to know more about the Gas Reservoir suspension and the inverted gas reservoir suspension in the motor cycles..Which one is better?? Are technically both same? And compared to mono suspension are they better or not??

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

You are talking about 3 different things out here. So let's take each one point wise to clarify the issues:

      1. Gas Reservoir: this is a derivative of what is known as gas filled suspension. In its simplest from it is a emulsion type shock absorber where oil and gas are mixed inside the shock absorber. The gas is normally pressurized nitrogen. The gas is used to prevent cultivation of oil, which in turn give more consistent shock absorption. An external reservoir contributes to better cooling of the oil, thereby giving longer service life for the oil.

      2. Inverted gas reservoirs work on the same principle as regular gas reservoir. The is no advantage in terms of shock absorbing capabilities. The advantage of inverted gas reservoirs is reduced unsprung weight which allows for better suspension action.

      3. A mono shock assembly is a type of suspension set up. It is not directly related to gas filled shock absorbers in anyway. In fact mono shock setups also have gas filled shocks, for example, the NS 200, Unicorn, R15, etc. I think the question that you are wanting to ask is "which is better? A dual shock setup or mono shock setup". The answer is mono shock. A mono shock offers better and more stable performance compared to dual shock setup.
