When that dice is rolled, the only thing that's in your control is the ****Up Index. You must hone your skills to a point where you are in complete control of your motorcycle, regardless of situation, to minimise the ****Up Index. It is encumbent upon every motorcyclist to do whatever they can to minimize the ****Up potential and leave the rest to the road gods. In my experience, they are kind.

Anatomy of a motorcycle crash
Barriertheir lawbecause they are dangerous and not despite it. If riding motorcycles for you is about living dangerously and squeezing every last drop of life affirming elixir from the day. If you know that every time you throw a leg over that bike you must strike the perfect balance between thrill and responsibility. If in your riding you aim for excitement but hope to draw the line at madness. If that is what you, like me, find challenging and satisfying about riding motorcycles. Then, my friend, you must accept, like I have, that you wont get it right every time and you will roll the dice occasionally.

Very well written @HarryD. Loved reading it!
p.s.: I did go through your blog as well
**insert a thumbs up smiley here**
Edit: You joined xBhp some 3 years back and have only 6 posts till date! Minimum usage won't give you any better resale value for your xBhp ID, you know that, right?
Just kidding! I think you should be here more often!

Re: Anatomy of a motorcycle crash
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this piece. Also its a close description of what actually goes through our head in a crash scenario. I once had a crash, just split seconds before i actually crashed, all the same things/calculations zipped through my mind. Although the crash was not a major one, as soon as i could stand up, i went to pick up bike and checking for fuel/oil leakage spill (as there was a small fluid puddle under it). and the crowd was coming to help me to my feet as well. The pillion, rather unhurt, came to me and said, "abe pehle khud ko kaha kaha laga hai woh dekh" (excuse usage of Hindi)

I think I joined here when I first found out about it when Sunny was in Australia. Then I forgot I'd joined! Very nice place you've got here, well done to the xBHP team!
