CEAT tyres commercial: Please help
Hello everyone, along with hours of cricket everyday, I'd been watching this CEAT tubeless tyres commercial wherein the biker's tyre would burst and the guy would fall down. I go around on decent drives and I'm seriously afraid of similar incidents happening especially when I'm over 30kmph. Anything higher than that would be damn dangerous.
I know that it's so rare to happen, but just to be pre cautious, can someone throw light on the rescue mission after punctures/tyre bursts?I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Topic Approved.
See, such an event is very very rare, if you're following the proper air fill up procedures. I suggest the following:-
1. Never fill more air than recommended.
If you're touring solo, then better to keep air pressure at 25-28 Front-Rear, although for pillion it is recommended 32.
2. Air expands when heated. Think in your mind how the tyre may explode due to this...
If you fill up in cold conditions and then travel to hot places, then it might explode. Keeping it in heat for long time also leads to this. Avoid all this then.
3. When you face a very big obstacle like a sharp rock, then this may happen, but its very rare even then, that it will explode. Still, keep an eye on the road anyways.
4. Try filling up Pure Nitrogen in tyres, before touring specially. It keeps tyre cool, as oxygen is not present in it. Obviously, it helps.---

Any bike in general, the ones with tubes I'm speaking about. I would be astonished to know if the procedure differs amongst bikes.I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Maintain tire pressures diligently. Check the pressure every weekend, keep an eye on tires every time you take your bike out and remove small stones embedded within grooves.Originally posted by Vattsy View PostAny bike in general, the ones with tubes I'm speaking about. Contrary to popular belief, most tire blowouts happen due to under inflation and not due to expansion from inside. The tirewall flexes a bit too much when under inflated. Hence always mention exact tire pressure as recommended, not 1 psi more, not 1 less.
Replace tires older than 4 years even if grooves are left or when grooves aren't deep enough. Wear indicators are present on all tires and you should know how to read them.
Apart from this there is not much one can do.
Freak accidents can happen to anyone anytime. Get yourself protective gears and ride safe. Motorcycling is dangerous!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I meant that if your bike has tube type tyres with alloys, why not upgrade to tubeless and being tension free. If you have spoked wheels, then it will be different.

Re: CEAT tyres commercial: Please help
As already mentioned, it's always better to have tubeless tyres. When on long rides, try to keep a foot pump with you to inflate tyres in worst case scenarios.

CEAT tyres commercial: Please help
Thank you all for being helpful. I think my English was bad. I was trying to ask a different question. "Suppose that you're a riding on tubed tyres at speeds 40+ and there is a rapid puncture, something where your reaction time would be 5 revolutions of the wheel or more, how would you bring the bike to a standstill with the least damage possible?"I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Don't apply brakes on the damaged wheel and use engine braking to the maximum. Keep the bike straight and hope that you don't fall at too high a speed.Originally posted by Vattsy View PostThank you all for being helpful. I think my English was bad. P.S - accident or no accident, a reaction time of 5 wheel revs is way too high.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
