  • Advise on selling/Transferof bike to a new state

    Dear Xbhp members

I have a Bajaj Discover 100 DTSi, 2013 make and bought on 20 Feb 2013. Till now this bike has covered 63000 kms without any problems and is going strong and I take care of this bike personally and I service this bike all by myself. Now the condition of the bike
    1. The original tyres are now getting bald and may need replacement in another 10k kilometers (considering another 4 months to cover this distance)
    2. Also the chain sprocket kit may also need replacement in another 10k kilometers
    3. The brokers/ Second hand bike dealers say that Bajaj Discover does not have any resale value and refuse to even check the bike and let me know the approximate resale value of the bike

On the above two along with other minor jobs I may have to approximately 4000 rs.

Now as I have got a new job in Gujarat, I am skeptical, if I should keep this bike and take it to my new place at Gujarat. I want to know if I should go through the entire ordeal of procuring a NOC and repaying the road tax in Gujarat is worth or should i sell the bike here and buy a new one there.

Your inputs would be highly appreciated.

    Update:
I did not go to Gujrat (the plan was shelved). I kept the bike with me and rode this bike for 155000 km before selling this on 12 May 2022 for a whooping 24k to an individual and the transfer formalities were completed in a month's time. The bike was meticulously maintained though with least amount of scratches. The bike looked almost new even on the last day. That said, the bike needed replacement parts and service of almost 21k.
This also proves a point that Bajaj bikes are also reliable..

    Thanks
