  • Pulsar's digital console/ self-check purpose.

Yo guys just wanted to know whats the purpose of self check thing that the digital pulsar shows when u turn on the ignition? And will it be possible to make our non digital pulsars do self checks like the digitals? Just imagine how cool it will look just like a sports bike. Both the needles turning all the way and coming back. What do u think people i need your reponse on this Will it be possible?

The self check is supposed to check the entire electircal loop for anu malfunctions. On sportbikes it also checks all the sensors for any problems. So the Pulsar's digital meter muct be checking only the electrical loop, of the LCD display.

For a non digital speedo'ed Pulsar, I dont know. It will be a lot of work to make thw needles do a sweep. Also might fiddle with their calibrations and give you erratic readings in the long run. So your best bet would be fitting the LCD meter on your bike. I know it can be done. I had read it here on xbhp itself.
      You get the point?? :D

Thnx SVJ i was just curious to know will it possible to make our non digitals do the self check thing. As for fitting the didgital console will it fit perfectly on the non digitals and wht will be the overall cost for it? Wil it put any load on the battery or the current set of wiring?

Ive seen many V1 pulsars having the Digi Consoles of V3 pulsars....

They need a new set of wiring to be done - it can be done with the bajaj Guys itself - else - contact the Speedometer repair centres in your area .....

The Self Check is been implemented in all the Digi Console Bikes.....They check all the Wiring and Sensors status......

Analog Consoles doesnt have thie option ..... ...... .....

Putting up a Digi console along with the wiring and labour would cost somewhere around 3k+..

It didn't cost me that much when I put it on my V2. It cost me around 2400 including labour.

There will be certain wiring changes that have to be made. But it is, at the max, half a day's job.
