  • Motorsports broadcast on TV

Been wanting to write since a long time on lack of motorsports broadcast on TV sports channels ,it's going from bad to worse .WSBK (world superbike) used to be broadcast live before but since last year it has disappeared ,Dakar rally highlights used to be broadcast but not this year .While the tribe of riders & motorsports enthusiasts keep increasing ,the bike & car manufacturers selling here have increased ,the auto magazines & media have increased but nobody seems to be interested in promoting motorsports like rally ,track racing ,motocross ,autocross of national & international level .I know these can be watched on the net ,but call me old school i prefer to watch it on tv .Even when we had only DD they used to have highlights of national rally and motocross events. Nowadays you have multiple sports channels showing the same thing ,when there is such a large market of motorsports enthusiasts why are the promoters or sponsors not interested ? Food for thought really. Mods -please post it in the appropriate thread ,

In one word - Kirket or Cricket as it is correctly spelt! People here find that game in which 22 people are playing more interesting. Wait a moment, not 22. 9 out of those 22 are doing absolutely nothing at any given time. They are actually sitting around a TV watching the rest on the field! And the rest on the field are standing around there, knowing there is a high probability that they might not need to move a muscle because the ball will never go anywhere near them! And some people actually call that a sport! #RantOver

But what is surprising is that channels will show reruns of Golf! Like who watches golf live, much less reruns of it! But no, motorsports is still not as interesting apparently!

But if you see global motorsports forums, the west is even worse off. The younger generation there are happier sitting behind a computer playing games and watching online tournaments of people clicking on mouses and keyboards! Its only a few countries like Spain and Italy where motorsports has general public interest.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Very true ,but atleast the auto manufacturers can sponsor and promote motorsports instead of sponsoring cricket & even golf tournaments ! A manufacturer selling commuter bikes sponsoring a major Indian golf tournament ,i mean what is the target market ? The tv sports channels need to know the large market for motorsports & i think other than manufacturers forums like xbhp can influence them .Even for Dakar telecast i see so many smaller countries in south east asia & africa in the telecast list but not India .If only wishes were horses .
