Re: GST & Bike Servicing
As per the government list (http://www.cbec.gov.in/resources//ht...20services.pdf) under sl.36 page 4, it is supposed to be charged at 18%.Originally posted by kgdinesh View PostHi Folks,

Ask politely if they have a instruction leaflet which demands 28% from govt for the service provided and not the sale of spares of motor vehicle itself. If not ask them to refund the 10%.
Note: Motor vehicles, its parts and spares are all charged 28% plus cess (this is because it absorbs the vat and other charges of goods.)Last edited by prajnyan; 07-03-2017, 12:52 PM.There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Re: GST & Bike Servicing
I bought a chain spray from a TVS service center yesterday. MRP on the can - Rs 135. Was asked to pay Rs 150 due to GST price changes. Roughly 10% increase.
I didn't pay in cash but made the mistake of not asking for the bill since I was in a hurry.
I realized later that it was probably stock bought before 1st July and I probably shouldn't be charged the extra 10% but I'm not clear on this

Re: GST & Bike Servicing
I serviced my Gixxer motorcycle after the introduction of GST. They charged 400/- in the name of servicing which does not include consumables (oil, filters, chain clean, etc.) Total bill was of 990/- (Previously the bill used to come around 500/- to 600/- inclusive of consumables)
Now I feel cheated
P.S. - My bike has completed all service coupons & done 14K in 2 years

Re: GST & Bike Servicing
First and Foremost thing, MRP is Max retail price which is inclusive of all Taxes(before it was Vat+Excise duty and other taxes) now it would include GST, so MRP itself contains all the taxes, so you have been cheated and should have opted for a bill. although the amount difference is just 15 rs but that directly contributes into his BlackMoney.Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostI bought a chain spray from a TVS service center yesterday. I think the stock was labelled before the implementation of GST .Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostFirst and Foremost thing, MRP is Max retail price which is inclusive of all Taxes(before it was Vat+Excise duty and other taxes) now it would include GST, so MRP itself contains all the taxes, so you have been cheated and should have opted for a bill. although the amount difference is just 15 rs but that directly contributes into his BlackMoney.

Re: GST & Bike Servicing
That doesn't matter since MRP is what the end customer should be paying.Originally posted by thippu.dr View PostI think the stock was labelled before the implementation of GST .Hero Honda Dawn-2009-2011
