  • Royal Enfield Classic 350 Modified...

Owning a BIKE is definitely a proud feeling when it’s your first. I too had it; the time I booked my first Royal Enfield Classic 350 series. Initially it was a craze using it for daily commuting which slowly became an interest and eventually a passion. This fascination led to long rides & exploring different locations.

Riding (alone) was all fun however after my wife started accompanying me, it seemed uncomfortable with a pillion rider due to my height (5.3 Ft.) vs the bike height of course. Bike became more heavy and maneuvering became a challenge specially while taking sharp ‘U’ turn. Many thoughts ran through my mind to fix this problem – change the bike, buy new one with required comfort, etc. etc. however this thought obviously would mean getting away from our first bike.

Suddenly one day I thought “how about if we can reduce the height?”. That is when the hunt for bike modifiers began. Some did have good reviews however not completely satisfactory. The search was still on and so was my rides (alone most of the times due to this problem). One such ride was to Nasik with my friends. While passing by the streets of Nasik I came across a shop named 2 Wheels’ Workshop. The thought of getting a bike modifier was anyways running in my mind and looking at shop my eyes automatically glanced inside once again. I saw a bike from far away distance and with the kind of finishing it had, I was forced to stop and check with the shop. First impression was definitely majestic and so was meeting Jayesh (owner of the shop), a nice and friendly chap with loads of knowledge about vehicles specially 2 wheelers and bikes to be precise. Talking to him gave me confidence that otherwise was missing in my previous searches’.
I asked him about reducing seat height, whereas he suggested a chassis level modification. The price quoted was Rs.75000/-. Obviously like anyone else would think, even I thought he is suggesting all this only to earn more benefits, however as the talks continued his suggestions seemed more logical rather than suspicious (One such e.g. was reducing only seat height will result in back pain).

After coming back to Mumbai, I also approached some more modifiers which had a bigger brand name in the market.
Comparing both options I was a little hesitant as Rs.75000 was a huge amount and that too when it’s a new modifier not known in the market. After a lot of huff, I decided to try 2 Wheels’ Workshop because Jayesh sounded technically strong and obviously his previous works standing there were awe-inspiring. I was clear about my needs – it should be classy, not loud or gaudy. Therefore, I thought of giving it a Scrambler look and same was downloaded to the team working for it.

The wait was too long though as it took almost 3 months to get the final product ready. However, the wait was worth it.
Finally, I got what I was waiting for and everything seemed just so perfect – the looks, the ride (alone or with someone special ;-)), the comfort and obviously the seat height (my actual reason for the modification). The bike seemed little lighter too in terms of weight which otherwise also was a hindrance not realized earlier but comfort at this level was amazing. Overall performance has been better than before with reduced vibrations.

    Uploading some photos for reference.

Purpose of me writing this review is to give a food for thought to all those who perceive to ride a Royal Enfield however because of its weight and height often refrain from buying one.
I am sure some customization will definitely help YOU to decipher your worry.

The modification looks superb and well worth the 75k spent.
However, I did not understand what chassis mod was done. Could you give more details of all the mods done?
Also what tyres are those? Look great.

The bike looks Awesome. It really feels great when you modify your bike and then it becomes a reflection of who you are.
