        that's simple.
        (For black / matt black)
        1. select the area using the polygonal lasso tool
        (if u want to blacken all the place don't use polygonal tool - jump to step 2)
        2. desaturate the area. (goto image -> desaturate)
        3. Select the burn tool which is available in the tool box. Now use the burn tool to darken the place.
        4. You may need to adjust the "Flow" to some lower value if you want to slightly darken the picture
        that's all

        (for light colour / silver)
        follow step 1 / 2
        use the dodge tool to lighten the area. applying multiple times will make a dark colour to look almost white / silver

        dodge, burn and sponge tool

                        Can u post that yamaha pic here ? it will be nice to see both original and altered work togethor. The bullet engine with twin exhaust system is really nice. still i want to see the original pic.

                              While changing colours from a strong colour. first desaturate the colour then change it. it will give better results.
