Adding a beefy wp fork on a Himalayan
The Himalayan deserves better suspension. Will adding a motocross fork on it make it non street legal? (Saving up for a new bike plus the upgrades ) I want an adjustable WP fork. The kind you see on the KTMs and Husqvarnas.Last edited by xBhp; 11-17-2018, 10:59 AM.Tags: None

Re: Adding a beefy wp fork on a Himalayan
It shouldn't change the legality, but swapping forks is not as simple as you might think. You have to get forks that are sized to the bike (length, spring rate, travel length etc), and they have to fit the axle of your existing wheel and have the brake caliper(s) positioned properly for the disc(s). Further, you will have to replace the triple clamp set to accommodate the fork legs, which means finding one that fits the bike's headstock/bearings. Also, the Himalaya uses a traditional upright fork, whereas most high-end suspensions are upside-down forks these days.Originally posted by positron View PostThe Himalayan deserves better suspension. Main problem in such type of mod is matching a rod of T stem (on which cone set sits) with chasis, either you have to co2 weld the rod to new T stem or cut the cylindrical part of chasis in which cone set sits and weld the matching one. First one is risky and second one will require rto permission as you are altering the chasis only if you want road legal bikeBig Power Comes With Big Responsibility
