Do Service Stations draw petrol from our bike during service?
I just got my bike serviced at an Authorized service station and on delivery of the bike, I noticed that my fuel indicator decreased by 2 points. My ODO meter showed the same readings before the bike was serviced. When I confronted the service guy, he told me that it is usual that about 200 to 300ml of petrol is taken from the bike for service purposes. Isn't it not right for them to draw petrol from Customer's bike. They are charging a service fee for their service right?. I wanted to know if this is usual in all service stations?

It's always better to leave the bike for service with low fuel (enough to run 15-20 kms). I always give my bike for service with petrol in reserve or close to reserve.Originally posted by Ritesh Dumpala View Post
In my SVC, they measure and show the fuel level before and after service and hence it's not an issue. My friend gave his Pulsar AS200 for service with a full tank (after a small accident, the tank was filled for a long ride) and got back the bike with the fuel as it was.
But sadly taking petrol is a common issue. Also, 2 bars don't correspond to 200-300 ml IMO. It's possible that more was taken and the guy is trying to cover up. Also as he said the petrol was taken, ask him for what specific purpose was it taken.Comment
