  • Wanna add some music for long rides

Hello guys. Can you please suggest me something to add some music with my long rides (Budget around 5k). I need them for music basically, not for Bluetooth intercom etc. I need your opinions for these specific points-
    1) Whats better Bt headset fitted in helmet or speakers installed on handle bars or near ?
    2) If I go with speakers for my Avenger 220 Street, how safe is it while parked? Can I remove them myself with no hassle or special tools? Also will they leave battery discharged in middle of the way ?[emoji848]
    3) And finally, any recommendations for headset or speakers.

Apart from these I welcome your suggestions or anything that you find practical.
    Thank you. [emoji4][emoji1317]

Re: Wanna add some music for long rides

        Hey,

I also enjoy listening to music while riding.

I got an ASG bluetooth device (the very basic one) that fits my MT helmet perfectly. I got it in 2017 (for about 1850 INR) and it hasn't given me any troubles yet. The music quality is average though.

I'll list out some points so that you may decide if this is the solution for you:

        What's good:
        1. Simple to mount - all you need to do is remove the inner liner and put the ear pieces into the space provided inside the helmet.
        2. Works equally well with both Android and iPhone
        3. Battery backup is approximately 6-8 hours of continuous use (could be more/less I never bothered to measure). I carry a power bank which is used to charge it when I'm taking a break from riding. If you're only using it for Google Map instructions then the battery lasts a lot more.
        4. It charges fairly quickly.

        What's Bad:
        1. The buttons (in my older generation SG-01) are very small and a pain if you're trying to change the track when you have riding gloves on.
        2. The battery level indicator, at least in my case, is not very reliable. It can be at 100% when you check it and within one hour the completely drained.
        3. The wires are very thin and seem as if they might get damaged easily. Though I haven't run into any issues yet.

I would advice against speakers for the simple reason that it involves fiddling around with your bike's wiring. Also you'll need to play the music fairly loudly if you're to hear anything when you're wearing your helmet and the wind is blasting over you which might not make other people around you very happy.

Hello.... sorry for lately replying. Thanks for suggestions. I also think that speakers may not be that much suitable for music and may drain battery too. But I have a doubt regarding this headset, are they comfortable for long time in ear. I mean there is no ear pad or soft part so doesn't it hurt after a couple of hours ? [emoji848] I had basic headphones some time back that had no silicon pads and those used to really hurt. Whats your experience...also cant those those boat bt earphones be fitted into helmets ?

Hey.... actually I didn't mean the regular headsets. [emoji16]

The ones I have fit inside the helmet, they're kinda flat circular discs with a foam cover.

Please have a look at this link for the headphones I'm talking about.
Dispatch: Within 2 working days. SIMPLY ATTACH THIS DEVICE IN YOUR HELMET & ANSWER CALLS, REJECT/HANGUP CALL (Does not Automatically answer calls) PLAY/PAUSE MUSIC & CHANGE TO NEXT/PREVIOUS TRACKS  GOOGLE NOW & SIRI THE WHOLE DEVICE STAYS INSIDE THE HELMET.  THIS KEEPS EVERYTHING CONCEALED AND NO ONE GETS TO KNOW WHAT'S INSIDE THE HELMET ALSO NO EAR PAIN DUE TO PLUGIN HEADPHONES

(Note to mods: I am not linked to this company in any way except as a customer. [emoji4])

Since my helmet (MT Revenge) already has a hollow space to fit the ear pieces I don't feel as if there's something extra inside the helmet.

Yes I had checked this headset online when you suggested. But in those pix the foam part wasn't much visible so asked about comfort. [emoji1]Well, thanks buddy for suggesting....lets see if other fellows have something to add ..or maybe I I will give it a try now. [emoji442]
