  • New fine rates on over loading and modification.

    Hi guys..

Few days back in Karnataka also revised traffic rules fines are implemented.

As I understood, for over loading in bike it's now 2000₹ fine. but there is no specifications on it.

Another major fine is on modification. If any design modification is done, it attracts 100000₹ fine on each part.(but not clear whether it's same for two wheeler and four wheeler).

Now my question is, fixing saddle stay/panniers, top rack, aux lights mounting will come under such act?

Using saddle bags (it'll look massive when we are on long/expedition trips), fuel cans. will it comes under over loading?

There was no information about electrical modification Fines. (they too exists if I m correct)

Anybody having good knowledge in this please enlighten us.

After reading this one thought came to mind - do we have any cop bikers who are part of xbhp? They will be the best source to keep us informed on updates to motor rules and regulations.

I hope that modifications like luggage panniers and touring electricals - usb power and aux lights don't attact fines. The types of modifications which do need regulation are the glaring psychedelic blinking stoplights going red-blue-white like the cop lights, white turn signals which look like reversing lights gone bonkers and high intensity LED flasher in the headlamp which is blinding at night.
