  • Should I tour 600 KMs on Honda Dream Yuga 110cc?

Hi, I just bought a Gixxer in Pune and now have to send my Honda Dream Yuga back to my hometown.

I am hoping I could just drive it there instead of transporting, just for the heck of it.

The distance is 600 KMs and given I can't ride that long at one go, I can assume the total distance traversed would come to 650-700 KMs.

I am leaving from Pune, planning a stop in Shirdi, Shirdi is 186 KMs from Pune, I am guessing for every 50 minutes of ride, I should stop for 15 minutes.

Is this a good/good enough idea for such a long tour?

Bike is in good condition, serviced periodically, new rear tyre, a two year old front tyre, engine is smooth, can't say mileage as the odo/speedo was not working for past 2 years (SVC people are assholes), recently got it fixed so yet to calculate the mileage. Says 35k on Odo, but safe to say 40k - 42k in reality.

I'll be getting another servicing done before leaving from a very much trusted mechanic. (Was referred to by a roommate, have referred over five friends to him).

If you can ride your bike constantly for 1 hour without any pains then you should be able to do it.
However, make sure to plan a backup e.g., puncture kit, spare fuel.

        But do remember,
It is going to take time. more than 9 hours.
Since you are not the fastest machine on the highway, it may also be a bit dangerous.
You may get really bored while riding.
It may be more expensive to ride home then to just transfer the bike via train or cargo.

Thanks for the link. This will be helpful once I have the logistics/routes figured out.

Yes I understand that transporting it would be the cheapest but I still want to go ahead with riding for the heck of it.

Only fuel will cost me around 1700+ considering variable pricing on the route, route length considered 700 KMs instead of actual 580 KMs.

Already have a puncture repair kit.

Front tyre is around 6k KMs old, rear tyre is 3k KMs old with 1 puncture.

Carrying excess fuel with me, I am not very sure as I am hoping good availability of petrol pumps along the way, I'll try carry at least 1 liter with me anyway.

What else should I get? Fog lamps?

I'll be carrying a laptop bag with me and that is it, what kind of rope should I get for the purpose?
