As the title implies I am curious about the quality of motorcycle gear you can buy in India and how much it costs. I'm trying to decide if I should purchase gear in the United States for my motorcycle trip and bring it or just purchase some there. Any tips would be very helpful. Thank you.

I would recommend buy the boots and helmet from India. Get the riding jacket, gloves and pants along with you.
You can get quality stuff from Delhi - Riderz Planet and a few other stores stock top of the line stuff.
Please bear in mind that binging a lot of stuff from overseas *may* cause the customs guys to charge you for "importing" riding gear - especially if you've just purchased it.
