Innovative idea, IIT brains, they are supposed to work in that way, and they are. Poor and stereo type brains like mine would never even think of it.

This is really a Innovative Idea
If planned and implemented this can get some marginal Amount of Customers
There are lots of concerns in it
1 - These Helmets should be charged(not the helmet but a battery should be used in helmet to power up the GPS)
2 - So this is related to a Cellphone with Bluetooth - so if u ride a Bike u should have a Bike - Bluetooth enabled cellphone - this Helmet
3 - Wat happens if the helmet is stolen - As praful asked
4 - Bikes should have some kind of storage Locks to prevent Helmet thefts
5 - Wat happens if the helmet is fallen down which causes maximum damage to the helmet itself - will it still send the signal?
6 - Wat happens if u ride in a place where there is no GSM or CDMA Network available?
This idea is somewhere has a link to my Dream Company.......in my case i thought of to have GPS in my Bike - but here they have mentioned it in the helmet...Last edited by Thunder; 10-07-2009, 02:41 PM.

in most other countries in the world. In India? Fuggedaboudit...Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostIf the helmet is dropped, the accelerometer would be triggered and as a result, an ambulance would arrive at the spot!

you could have a 30 sec trigger to switch it off. or you could program the accelerometer to measure the motion of the bike before activation. but i say its a great idea, but needs to be independent of the cell phone. and people buy expensive helmets, if this is implemented, i feel its gonna be a good step in motorcycle safety. A first of its sort! Great going.Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostAwesome idea....but what if one drops the helmet?

fantastic idea... I just wish that these guys get their patent before someone else flexes their muscle to get it patented...
Can just dropping the helmet produce 5G force?Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostAwesome idea....but what if one drops the helmet?
No cirrect answer but two hintsOriginally posted by prafultripathy View PostAnd how does one start the bike if the helmet is stolen?
1) You are anyway not supposed to ride without a helmet
2) the helmet has a GPS device in it. There can be a way to trace it by the signal.
or
Tell the bike that your helmet is stolen, via SMS

Helmet should also be capable of doing instant money transfer to hospital account upon accident, they will surely come to the rescue

Excellent idea but it should have manual override in the bike too, helmet alone must not be given entire control over the bike..
Already the modern bikes have sensor's and other things at every nook and corner of the bikes and we'll be left to guess if any of those sensors have gone kaput or the helmet is not allowing the bike to crank...
Better Still is situation like " I'm riding on a Phulllll rainy day some 100kms out of city limits and the sensor of the helmet goes kaput due to water and starts sending SOS
, There you go... I have ambulance chasing me in my rear view mirror"
Fun Starts at Redline!!!

Very Innovative idea.
But I felt instead of all this in helmet, Why not fix this in the bike? In a safe place where i wont face much damage in case of a crash, Like under seat.
I am not sure how those devices will sustain the crash while in helmet with limited space . There are only going to add to weight of the helmet which could be very uncomfortable to the rider. And those electromagnetic waves might cause an adverse effect on the brain! And while holind so many things under the helmet, its would be more prone to instant damage than regular helmets because of more gaps in the kevlar.
Of course there are many other limitations, but all the products have it, so wont discuss about that.

^ agreed with the above post.
While kudos to this, more complex a innovation is made, more chances that it have more errors. Also like Riaz said, the helmet would be expensive to repair if it just was a small accident. Cant really trust a GPS to resist shocks beyond an extent.
Best would be to intregate in the bike.A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.
