  • How did you get hooked???

So howd you people get into the whole biking

scene..was it your dream to ride a bike ever since

you were little or did you gradually build up toward

    it??

    Wanna hear bout it ppl..

    heres my 15 min's[]

I didnt even get intrested in biking even after i got the RX100.Yea it is pretty crazy but i just used it to get to college(which was bout once a yr).

It was that fateful day dont remember the month but the year was probably '97, I was visiting my Uncle in Hyderabad, everybody else had gone shopping and I was getting bored outa ma head ,so i decided to buy an Auto India to read the review of the new Turbocharged
Tata Serria. That time i was still very much into cars as most of us are since we get our first matchbox
car ,Well read the Sierra review and was reading further when i came across the review of the New (for '97) BMW K 1200 RS by Sir Al Cathcart ,just launched. I was floored.. the fat rear tyre, the exquisite bodywork, the single sided swingarm, the performance figures, I was hooked , could think of nuthin else after that,in the train on the way back to Delhi in I was doin imaginary races with the..umm train [}],me on the Beemer aginst the train.Got home and saw my RX in a whole new light..

Its funny and makes you wonder, how such defining moments in your life have their roots in something as simple as buying a magazine.

Thank you Hydrabad, Auto India and Sir Al.

    yo man!
    our stories r quite similar...!

even i was very much into cars... but gradually got into bikes too!
when we used to commute in our first cars ... some bikers use to overtake every now & then & there started the spark...!!!

then with my first ever two-wheeler a scooter ... i used to do some huge wheelies.... unintentionally!
man ... blood is so tasty...!

got a habit of lifting the front & then saw that bikes can do much more than that ... when my mamaji (in his youger days showed me a huge wheelie, which got him resting in his bed for some 10 days...!)... i got a fnacy into bikes...!

& then xBhp happened to me ...!
    & rest is history...!

cars are good ... but bikes r better for singular fun...! & for plural fun ... i looks for my cars!
vrrrooooooommm....BOOMMM...! Heard the sonic boom? Yeah, it was me...!

Well, two wheels always fascinated me...from my younger days (of abt 10years old) when I used to (still do quite a bit) cycle around the city and skate on my in-line skates (a novelty in those days though the two-wheeled in-line had just come out I cudnt lay my hands on them!) , I always knew the freedom of bikes and couldnt dream of giving it all up...had to pester my parents to get me a bike to go to coll even though they were ready to give me the car!!..ppl say I m mad. I agree...I am mad abt bikes!
With great power, comes great responsibility- to man, machine and especially to mother nature.

i too was more into car since a kid, though i used to ride bikes(tvs suzuki samurai), and then one fine day i bought enfield lightning 535, and fell in love with it and bikes as a whole, the calmness of the engine was awefull and realized cars r nothing compared bikes, and never looked at cars the way i used too, the wind in u hair, the sense of freedom, the speed, feeeling the engine thumping between ur legs............

used to ride it every where, did many long drives too, and there is just something about biking which i just cant explain, but just feel it..........

then the beauty of harleys hanged me over for 4 years, and i was completely into cruisers, and never even looked at sports bike......

but then 2004 R1 broke covers in 2003, and man, the best bike i say, and then i went on to buying pulsar 180 dtsi, to see how revvy engine feels, and it felt good, too good........

and now just living to own an R1........

but i still do have a corner for the classic/vintage cars.............but biking. just too good to resist

It was around two years back that I got my Caliber. I'd been driving the car much earlier. The bike was a pleasure to weave in and out of traffic, and to blaze out at traffic lights.

However, it was seeing that Matrix (Reloaded?) scene, where Trinity rides like crazy, that really hit home for me :-)

and of course, the recent Diu/Kutch trips have rejuvenated my bike l'affair. You know, I think once you return from a reasonably long strenous bike trip, you seem to fall in love all over again. What do y'all say .. lovemax,Bunny,Nikhil....??

                  Hey,

Well, my love for 2 wheels & 4 wheels started long ago, when i was in the 6th Std in school, one of my neighbours was a member of WIAA, he would get magazines & give them to me i would just cut the Pics out of the Mags & stick & collect them in my drawing books & files.

My dad owned a Rajdoot & loved riding Pillion with him whenever i got a chance. eventualy when i was in my 9th Std (15 yrs of age) i lerned to ride dad's bike without his permission or knowledge (had made duplicate keys).

One of my school friends wanted me to help him learn how to ride, & guess what bike he had,a Royal Enfield Bullet (that's when i fell in love with Bullets).

So that's my story & it has not been a moment for me but it has started from my childhood days.

Same story here i was very much found of Cars only(specially our old Maruti Fronti)then when my Dad bought his RD i started gaining interest in bikes as one day i asked my Dad that why other Bikes are having 1 spark plug and our's is having 2 and our car is having 3.He explained me all things about Engines, 2 stroke, 4 Stroke, Numbers of Cylenders etc etc.And after that day i never seen back.Just waiting for my next bike i.e. CBX with 6 spark plugs sorry with 6 cylenders.

Hmmm Tough question it was in my blood... was borrowing Auto India mag from my friends and reading every bit from as soon as it was launched...Got to ride my first bike CD 100 in 7th standard...Then on the bike thing was alwasy in my mind...was really crazy about bikes from class 11..now cars never really caught my imagination... got to ride a RX 100 of my friends in the first year of engineering...was hooked and persuaded all my friends to buy the RX....parents finaly made me buy a 4 joke...

Then i saw an RD... the whole world changed and i went mad....swore that i would buy one when i get my first job....

So thats it.....but my craziness for bikes and speed have never lessened in the past 10 years.....
                        LIVE LIFE FULL THROTTLE!!!!!! VROOOOOOM!!!!

it all started wid my little atlas cycle. i still remember i use to somehow get it the 1st floor apartment flat ( i was like in 2nd) , wash it , tight the screws n stuff. den in 7-8th class i got this big hero cycle. me n a fren loved those long skids (dats all i cud do from it) , burnin away the thin rear tyre in less than 2 months n stuff. den the love shifted to the bajaj chetak, den bajaj classic - dis scoot helped me learn my 2nd gear wheelies (easily possible on scoot) , loved touchin d stand on turns n stuff - by dis time i was in 10th.. in 11th , shifted to frenz splendor (no matter how hard i tried , it never wheelied).. finally on 26th jan 2001 , i got my cbz (in 12th class) and d world changed for me. i used to drive to school n back (55kms up n down) , used to follow d bus ( n hence d chicks lolzz)..
lost my cbz to the karizma on 15th june 2003
