Why bikes dont fall while cornering?

This is my guess :
A centrifugal force is the force that forces a body to move inwards(towards the centre) while in a curve. It is denoted by F=m*v*v\r where 'm' is the mass of the body, 'v' is the velocity and 'r' is the radius from the centre. So according to mathematics, 'r' is inversely proportional to 'F'. So if you increase the radius, which means if you are a bit far from the centre, force decreases and chances of falling off are less. Hence even some roads are slightly raised from the outer sides.
This may be the reason or may not be...I guess there are other factors too, which some seniors can explain.No Nonsense Biker.

ok... explanation from a very "non tech" guy
When cornering, the bike tends to move away from the centre..right? But we lean so as to counter this movement & I guess that's why it doesn't fall. If you reduce speed & don't come up straight you will fall

No, I guess this is wrong. The machine(any vehicle) move towards the center due to centripetal force. We lean to further increase speed but eventually if we lean real low, the radius too decreases and hence force increases, and the machine crashes.Originally posted by rx100.7050When cornering, the bike tends to move away from the centre..right?No Nonsense Biker.

this is the same concept of earth cornering around sun

if you are falling(read leaning) towards a corner but your falling is such as, when you are suppose to kiss the corner (read tarmac), the corner is not there (read because this is a turn stupid.. ).. then you would lean but not fall.. physicist also called it some phenomenon (I think something like projectile..)
obviously all the forces should be in perfect balance.. speed should be good enough, which takes you to turn before falling on tarmac.. leaning+speed in perfect angle.. and Friction plays an important force in them.. (read take care of your tyre tread..)

but isn't it the same thing when we try to rotate a ball attached with a string to a stick?? It tends to move away, right? It can't coz of the thread? Just a question dear.... trying to understand not debate

Now even I am confused
...
an object will move outwards while trying to rotate along an axis...but we lean to move in and stay on the road..but if we move real in..we fall. I guess you are right

HUUUUMMM not simple english but in technical term,
when body moves along circular path a force called centipital force acts on it in outward direction( this is because stuntmen do not fall in MAUT KA KUAN).
Now three forces are acting one is centipital force and another is you weight which is acting in downward direction due to gravitational, and reaction force.

Physics is applied when turns are designed for roads. You might want to learn about Banking. Banking is defined as raising the outer edge of the road in order to negotiate the curve.

one more thing, Isn't the 'Banking of Road' plays a role in corners. If there is not banking an object will be thrown tangentially.

One bloody Stupid answer (an obvious one too) in response to Kurt's Question:
1. If the tyres run flat.
2. If the road ends before the end of the curve.
3. If there is some Dog, Cat, Cow, Goat, elephant, Horse, Tiger, Mud, Slush., Oil, water, Pothole on the curve itself.
