i donk know what sprocketing is, but i can guess, i did fit in a smaller ( dont remember ) or a bigger sprocket which gave me more pickup but less top speed...

never tried..but this is what i think :-
samller sprocket = increased pickup & reduced top speed
bigger spricket = increased top speed & reduced pickup
        but maybe i'm wrong.
        I dont like speed...But speed likes me.....YO!!......DOPE!

              hi rajnish
u can go in for a 16teeth fron sprocket...its standard on a yam 5 speed..
it will increase ur top speed by 10 KMPH....
u may feel a slight drop in acceleration...but if u r used to drive hard all the time ..then u'll find the acceleration increased.......
              have fun

Well lets clear all these things once and for all.
                  1. Smaller front sprocket more pick up less speed.
                  2. Bigger rear more pick up less speed.
                  3. 1 tooth change in front results in huge differences of at least 7-10 kmph.
                  4. To alter gearing using rear sprocket is more com-plex. Why? Chain has to be cut or lenghtened. REar sprockets are more expensive. Labor charge is more. Front sprocket is all plus points.
                  5. However rear sprocket mods are better. Why? I cant tell you its a secret! Just take it from me.
                  6. You have to jump at leats 4-5 teeth in the rear sprocket to get results.
                  7. If you are serious about sprocketing mods contact me and I can get someone to custom make front and rear sprockets. Local ones aren't hardened and they get worn out soon. These will be hardened. Cheeck them out at rddreams as well.
                  8. CAn some one give me the gear ratios as well as sprocket sizes and all of the pulsars. I think 180 n 150 are diff right?

Well you will have to give me the sprocket sizes first as well as the gear ratios and engine power band details. This is not a hit and misss affair like the way the local mechanics do so. Or do one thing. Take the bike for a full speed run and tell me the rpm and speed at that point of time. I can give a rough idea of what to do but with out proper specs and details we cant predict much. Go bigger by one teeth in the front sprocket it will push up ur speed. go too big ur torque might not be enough to push the bike . simple nah. Just give me figures to work with first.
