    Are you the superstitious kind???

Superstitions!! trust me are part of almost everybody's daily activity... and bikers are no exception...

Some do a chota special "Pooja" before taking their steeds out of garage...

Some do it while taxing to the "Runway", some do it before "Take Off"...For some it is at the temple/church/mosue/gurudwara or other religious place nearest to their home...

CAT: A very key component of many superstitions

Some turn their bike/car off and wait for someone else to cross the road after a CAT has zipped across...

some riders wear their right gloves first (though wearing left one first comes natural to many, i prefer wearing right first) and the helmet kissed before they wear it....

the list goes on and on, everybody has something or other to believe and follow at different situation...

Lets see how many such superstitions we at xbhp live with and the reason why many of us do it...

So being the starter, let me put my list...

I pray at a junction while riding where we have a church and a mosque facing each other and my bike has the ganesha on speed to complete the triology or "MY three fold protection"

and wear the right glove first, i ride the bike few inches before allowing the pillion to hope on and BTW i dont stop for CAT's and RAT's

    ur turn.....

I don't ride on Sundays between 4PM to 6PM. Twice that I have kissed the ground, at this time and day

Somehow I always check the brakes after crawling for some initial distance.

Don't know whether its a superstition or else!

i dont go for prayers or anything, but there is a piece of roli ( holy red thread) tied to the rear view mirrors of both my R15 and my ninja by my mom. Whenever that thread goes old, i ask her to change it by tying a new one.

Yes,in some ways,i pray to god before taking a long ride, thats it
i dont kiss helmets,i dont wear right hand gloves first, never had any encounters with black CAT
that is all i do,just pray to god before leaving home for a long ride and therz nothing to be ashamed of

I think i belong to the different league and i always pass the hypothetical line cutted by the cat whether i have time to stop or not , especially if some of my friend ask me to stop then i necessarily cross it.I am not superstitious at all,i believe in my biking.

I am not superstitious. Just cautious. Well praying before/while/after riding your bike is not a superstition. I generally say a small Thanking prayer once I reach my home back safely. But, yeah cat crossing, right/left glove first etc are. But, again I believe that these are the elements that make us, our thoughts, our self. I am enjoying this thread .

Ok i dont know how to put this but all the people in my village when they hit
the highway stop at the village god's temple who is the protector of the village and pay respect this is done by everyone... bus, auto, lorry drivers do this.... they place lemon and run the vehicle over it i do this too for some reason this makes me feel good.

Its the same "superstition" that makes me take the Dharma dharshan line

I always say "Bismillah" means (Starting with the name of Allah) when i put the 1st gear .and while i am riding only at long rides "Haza min fazle rabbi" means (By the grace of my Lord) . These are not superstitions ,i really believe in it.

Well i just got to know that i say the latter one only on my long rides, from now it will be every time i'll ride.

I'm superstitious on pictures, but I don't take pictures of my bikes & car from my previous experience.

I owned an Max100 & RX during 97-99 & 99-00 & I took the pictures of them, but had to sell them for no reason.

So I stopped taking pictures of my vehicles for last 9 years. Trust me I bought more rides/drive after that.

When I go for long drives, I take blessings from my Mother.
