  • Safe Riding Awareness to College Students

    Hello xBHP'ians ,
Well , i have a Thought of promoting safe driving awareness among the College students. The major reason to come up with this thread is that recently one of my college mate has passed away in a ghastly accident. I have been observing many people of my college or surrounding colleges , dont wear a even Helmet and do 100+ all the time even at the curves.

So , my point is that why don't we members of xBHP conduct some seminars on Safe riding and the use of Riding gear in colleges , as maximum no. of people use bikes . The Senior XBHP'ians can do this part , in creating the awareness and educating the youth on safe riding? . We can talk to the college authorities and conduct it.

Hope i conveyed what i wanted to .

Why don't you make a proposal, write out a detailled programme, what all you want included in it, the number of hours, participants, speakers etc... and send it to us. Maybe we will work something out with your proposal. It is an interesting idea.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

really fantastic idea!!! If this programme is successful, we can replicate this for other audiences & other places too. You can give LOTS of examples from XBHPians who have toured extensively & safely as they wear propper riding gears. Also, wearing good helmets & riding gears, riding safely & sanely is super-cool. You can promote that. A proper function where seniors can come on their bike wearing proper riding gears, sharing their bit of experience can help.

        Just my thought bro

First of all thank you for the approval ken da. This is an idea , if fellow and senior xBhp'ians think it is worth it , then i'll give out the detailed description on this.

Ya.. That is what my intension is , to create and educate the younger lot of bikers about what safe riding is. I'm sure enough that there are several senior members who have done thousands of kms through safe riding, so they would be of great help in this regard .

I welcome it, as Ken says, document the idea to XBHP & all of us can volunteer it. IMO, we can start from schools. A month back I see a school student (wearing uniform NO HELMET with a pillion rider) in Scooty trying to race with me & I was like . At one point in time, I felt like showing what my Rx100 is about, but immediately I realized his innocence & thought of stopping him & talk about street racing & law. Eventually I ignored everything & made my way home.

Actually i just have an abstract idea , i don't exactly know what documentation is ,ill try to put up breifly what i wanted in this programme
-- Formation of Team to Make the Seminar(This will be decided by the Senior Members at each place , i mean like city )
-- Contacting the authorities of colleges.
-- Documenting what we want to present to them ,I Mean the videos and all the related stuff as we have "ART OF SAFE RIDING".
-- Some of the members will be displaying the riding gear and importance and what are the different riding gears available for safe riding.

How about some portion of Indian law into it? Like slogans from traffic city police?

Brother we even need to consider how many of them are ready to listen to all we say? So this is what my doubt is . We need to somehow formulate an idea to reach the youth.

I support your intention and appreciate your views.
Down here at Trivandrum Our unit is trying to flag off such a mission starting with a helmet awareness rally coming saturday in association with The City Traffic Police. The Police department is very much impressed with our initiative and have promised to offer any help to conduct seminars and awareness programs like this. Also some Xbhpians even from other districts and states have supported our cause and encouraging us to do it.
So I suggest you to get in touch with the authorities which can help you with your intentions and gather similar minded civilians (in and out of Xbhp) and then just do it

A good night's sleep is essential for overall well-being, and the quality of your mattress plays a significant role in determining your sleep experience.
