I believe a few years back there were problems with even some of DOT and Snell certified helmets. As standard practice these certifications organisations take helmets from the market periodically to test if they meet the standards, it so turned out that a number of helmets that were both DOT and Snell certified actually failed the DOT test.

A very interesting and valid point. The problem is one of enforcement. How many of these so called ISI helmets are genuinely ISI certified. What is the mechanism used by the Bureau of Indian Standards to ensure that the ISI mark is not being passed off by unscrupulous manufactures to make a quick buck.Originally posted by kaynmantis View Post
