Bike Security, Theft and Tracking
I searched on the same topic, didn't find anything so starting new thread...
Bike security has become a serious concern to me and for many of you too. My friend's bike has got stolen a month ago. Through his experience I learned that only 20% bikes are found by cops.
I wanted to know what are the options we have to secure our bikes?
today most bikes come with weirdo keys which are hard to duplicate and which is good but thieves have become smarter too..they run away with locked bike and break the lock at their ease.
1. We can't implement H.I.S.S. in desi bike..Thieve don't know what that is...they steal the bikes anyway.
2. Xena disk locks are good but still its a preventive measure and they can't be used every time.
3. There are some other locks which can even turn off/on ignition, where can we get them?
4. How can we help cops to find our stolen bike ?
5. Can we put the GPS tracker inside bike like some cars have?
6. This is my idea..please suggest me guys if it isn't applicable.....my idea is we buy a new cheapest mobile available with new lifetime sim...we put the mobile on silent...we then remove its cover, screen etc,. .and also heavily tap it so water can't go inside..we hide that assembly inside bike with other electrical..we keep it connected to bike's battery permanently so that it won't discharge.......if bike's got stolen then cops can track that mobile using sim and IMEI number(I'm assuming it's easy and practicable for cops to find mobile with sim and IMEI number)
So I think we can create our own desi bike tracker in less than 1000 rs.
