@NY:17 - yes, the FZ can also be made peppy. I'm prototyping an engine already. Will develop and build one soon. The engine can be turned into a big-bore breather with over 30% gain in power over stock.

This is a very conservative setup considering it has to take everyday abuse and return good fuel efficiency. Adnan's target was to beat a P220 and it does that without breaking much sweat being just 180cc.
The bore and stroke of this engine is unlike the factory stock RTR 180 which has the 62.5 x 57.8mm dimensions. This still retains the 52.9mm stroke from the RTR160 with a 66mm bore which has made it a rev-happy motor and still giving serious kicks from low-down.
The bike still runs on most stock internals like cam, springs etc, but the rest compliment the package. The fuel efficiency is truly stunning that it still returns as close to a stock bike as possible with enough grunt to decimate a p220.

I have always quoted that the RTR is a highly capable engine and this is a perfect example and at the same time striking perfect reliability. I'm working on more goodies for the RTR 160/180. Very soon, performance camshafts and a lot more goodies for the RTR will be out. Enough plug and play options to take the engines past 20bhp effortlessly.

great job...a friend of mine is interested in doing up his RTR 180.so could u pm the details of the mods and the cost

hello joel just wanted to know if the karizma engine can be pimped up coz the actual honda engine is 24bhp but here in india its detuned to 17bhp.. so can there be any mods to extract some more power from the same engine... what could be the approx cost involved

Its possible to get 30%, but it wont be an exhaust work alone. Tuning aint a cyber game to bump numbers with some clicks. Pulsar is the last engine to explore such levels. the worlds est exhaust cant give over 10-12% with everything else remaining stock. If ts tuned in harmony with the engine, then you can expect a little more.

Did I read it right? A Pulsar 220 Dts Fi, can it be modded to the right power it deserves?

@Joel: BTW neat mod, keep up the good work, KUDOS!

I know I might be going off topic, sorry for that but could not help it.
