I totally agree with what the whole concept is all about .. but the point being .
If major companies refuse this proposal. what next???
If Xbhp has always taken the initiative. why not now.??
If it's such a big thing "RACE TRACK" then why cant Sunny and all the xbhp team try to make a proposal for the same and give it a shot .??

uv hit the nail right on the head. Now it just needs to slide into the heads of ones with the big bucks. ur writeup definately reflects what fellow xbhpians think.
there is fun, upbringing of talent and also loads of moolah. the idea of the DREAM track being a motoGP one is as exciting as it gets. having MumbaiGP or DelhiGP between philip Island and Jerez on the table would bring a smile on every inidan enthusiasts face. let the posers hang around the malls. WE need to ride.

Moto GP may be cheaper than F1, but that doesn't make it cheap enough for it to be feasible everywhere. Costs in MotoGP too, are spiralling and Kawasaki is the latest or should I call, the first casualty. We even have Max Otley crying foul on the direction MotoGP is heading. Yes, we do have plenty of places out of the city that are non-arable and available at dirt cheap prices. But, we need people to get this great idea up and running. Coming to having track days, the go-karting approach might very well work in India. On any given day, the go-karting tracks around major cities see plenty of action with college kids, etc. lining up for a few bursts of speed.

A lot of young people are earning good money and parents are willing to spend upto a few lakhs for their childrens' motoring needs. The Indian public is slowly warming up to motorcycling as a de-stresser and so, this could be just be the business than can exploit this situation and make merry. IMHO, charity won't work. So, if this track day concept has the capacity to generate bucks for someone(read track owner)/some forum/association to benefit from, we can certainly look forward to it.

Coming to the tracks themselves, expanded go-kart tracks can be a nice proposition. Doubling their size, we get decent mini tracks that stretch to maybe 800-1000 metres a lap. What more, these tracks can be located at maybe <60 kms away from the city(riding to the track can also be a part of the fun). Once that happens, we will certainly have people coming along to ride their steeds. Manufacturers(read TVS, Yamaha, etc) too can cash in by sponsoring a few events all year round and for a few launches too. This way, the business model can be used by the track owners for quite a few purposes ranging from go-karting to product launches.

For the motorcycles, we could have the track owners stocking a range of pay-per-day/event motorcycles like the Apaches, R15s and Pulsars prepped for the track. This, because in India, most of us use our motorcycles primarily to commute. We obviously cannot risk disfiguring our steeds on the race track every other weekend. What say guys? In the UK, there are motorcycle clubs like the spyder club which allow for part ownership of motorcycles. We can look for a solution similar to this with members paying an annual membership fee. In addition to track days, members can get the opportunity of riding classics like the RD350, Jawa 350 and even a few superbikes without actually owning them. I would certainly love such a concept and be ready to put money where my mouth is to be a member of such a club. The "BIG QUESTION" is, how many more would?

All good ideas.. i feel. How about extending the concept of xbhp a little, making it a business owner too?
If i had money... i would put it here too. But we need professionals to look into this as a serious business possibility.
