Its touching OF sir. Its like I am reading ME in those lines and thinking damn I am stupid. In this journey of life there are the moments when you chose and regret forever. I wish there were not so many options to choose from and then think to position ourselves on the TOP. These few lines will open many eyes. And many will say only OF sir can do such an event in their life. Touched Really..

most of the times we become so stupid and careless once we get into that adrenaline rush that we end up putting many lives at risk..our family, not to mention ourselves...OldFox sir, your post made me feel real guilty..i will try my best not get into that adrenaline rush again..

and then came AnuragAshok sir's post. After halfway through I just gave up...so deep and so true....

dsids, binoy and shaggy: Glad I could connect with you all like this, across distance and age, as a fellow rider who sees more in riding than just changing gears and taking turns. The parallels between riding and living are numerous and at times disturbingly true. Keep searching for these and each new find will give you one more reason to keep riding and riding well.

Indian07: It is not just YOU in those lines but all of US. We have all been through it sometime or the other. The coveted TOP is ironically so relative. There's always someone above you, whatever you do. So doing what is needed and doing it well is already the TOP. No need to keep chasing up a phantom mountain.

No one's ordinary.. It's in your hands to set your sights at any goal and then achieve it. As long as you can remember that life and our passage through it is to be paced more like a marathon and (definitely) not a 100m dash, you will be OK.. In this journey, everyone can win in the end.

What is important is to also enjoy the journey rather than waiting for the destination. destinations and goals can be like shifting goal posts and waiting to be happy only when one reaches them is a sure shot way to hit crisis big time in your life.
Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.

          Thought provoking...

i was one of those who liked to differentiate myself from crowd
after geting my first bike, i saw so many people have the same bike.
I thought for making mods, even posted here in help section :P
full fairing(not for the dhoom effect),
But then here my knowledge grew, i started understanding motorcycles
and then for me it was no more about being different
things have changed for me since then,
I want to be one, one with the spirit of motorcycling

and this i have learn form here. I love my motorcycle the way it is.
And now even if i change something, it will not be for Others , or for being exclusive
it will be for the good of my bike

Change is refreshing when it is done for the sake yourself and not for the sake of others...(another thing learned)

Thanks OF for posting this, coz many of us will realize the same thing later, may be only when our hair will turn gray.

Old fox sir that was such a thought provoking article, its stirred me up deep down inside. Now my motorcycling is not going to be about one upmanship, I am going to enjoy it as long as life allows me to do so. No more of trying to project myself as better or different and not just in biking that is.
              respect ma authoritae!!

Omi: You are already different. Think of another Omi EXACTLY like you and you'll know what I mean. The 'uniqueness' need not be contrived when nature has already made each one of us unique and exclusive already.
Glad to know we walk on the same road and together at that.

Thanks for the good words Chetan. Being deluded and remaining so is the biggest pain in our lives. Awake, arise and shine and the world is a joy to live in.

I sure am glad if I could make you 'think' about the prevalent compulsiveness of competition. There is life beyond and away from merely bettering others and its a lot more fun.

Another eye-opener from a person who has more kms.of motorcycling than we have hair on our heads!
Hope such articles are published in more places. It is so sad to see young motorcyclists crippling themselves or even worse losing their lives just for a moment or two of glory, the effects of which can be devastating.

He he....I am just a guy who surfs over ownership and what bike threads. When I see this thread I understand what level of biking experience xbhp teaches and what classic people we have here to teach. Insipte of me saying so much I only understood around 20% of this thread's meaning. I guess I have a long way to go. And am eager to learn. Just waiting for the right time to come. Long live xbhp!!
