  • Battery Problems for my Pulsar 150 UG3..Help Needed

Off late, I have been facing problems with my Self Starter. It works 2-3 Days from the daye of Service(Battery recharging) and then dies. Also the Horn will have no life after 3 days until the Bike is started.
The Battery is getting completely drained despite being just 1 month old.
I replaced the old Battery due to the same reason. Now I feel that my Old Battery should have been fine because I'm getting the same problem with the new one as well.
If I dont ride the Bike for about a week, the Digital Speedo becomes so dull when I turn on the Power.
I think, for some reason, the battery is not getting charged properly.
My Mechanic checked the current leading to the battery and found it to be OK.
Please help me diagnose the problem which has been driving me mad for quite some time.

If the battery charging circuit is ok then it might be a problem with some part of the electricals. There could be a short circuit or some such thing which is discharging the battery.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

As the battery has just been changed, and assuming that it is indeed being charged as it should, then it has to be an electrical drain on the battery which causes it to go flat (when the engine is off).

One thing you can do is check electrical connections and make sure everything is tight and secure. I've heard of batteries and starter motors being changed when in the end the problem was only a loose bolt attaching the battery ground cable to the frame (or engine block)!!

Then you can do a few tests yourself if you have a Digital Voltmeter. Alternatively you can take your bike back to the mechanic who should really investigate the problem a little deeper as it is clear the battery isn't the problem. Good luck
Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.

          hummmm

may be some wiring problems , have you fitted any extra horn or light or central lock or some thing like that on your bike .

just check all complete wiring from a good macanic . after that may be your problem get solved ........

funnily, even i am having the same problem with my bike... and the strange part is that if i disconnect the horns, the battery retains the charge for about 6 days. but if i connect the horn again, the battery dies within an hour..

the wiring on my bike is ok as far as i have checked. this weekend, i will be taking it to my mechanic. maybe i am having a shorting somewhere on my bike.. will try the voltmeter method today though...

battery getting discharged while using hid

                  hi guys,,
please anyone help me out...i have a pulsar 150 dtsi ug3 2006 model bike.recently i have modified it with r15 kit and it looks marvls. i have replaced the headlights too with bi xenon projector hid..as u all knw the ug3 will not wrk the headlamps frm btry directly..so when i connected the hid, i used to change the connection and made it to wrk directly from the battery unfortunately the battery drains out while the hid is wrkng for an hour..nd gets charged while running without hid...
                  i got many solutions like
replace the btry with 12v 9amp currently m using exide btry 12v 3.5amp
replace the rectifier and use r15's
replace the coil or make windings to it..
the last solution is d one m nt willing to, bcz no good mechanic is available here to do it perfectly..
yr kindly help me plzz...and provide me a btr solution
