    Help finding a used V Twin engine!

    It might sound a little crazy.. But it thought i'll build a bike(Since i'm a mechanical engineering student thought this project will help me give some idea about bike building and component assembly).

    Now I decided to custom build a chopper instead of a regular bike(I know its a tall order especially for a newbie like me). So for that authentic look I wanted a V Twin engine and some long front forks. Budget is a bit low so thought I'll get seconds. I'm from Bangalore so I need to know if i get my parts anywhere here in Bangalore itself.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

      You will get a Comet GT250 or Aquilla engine for such purposes cheap around mumbai...

      There is a guy on xBHP classified selling the comet (from pune) ping him, he does such kind of work too!

        Try getting the stuff imported if your budget allows.

        Else look for a Comet engine which though is highly unlikely to be found.
        Chrome rims and bling ? get a real life !

          thanks.. i'm kinda new to this forum so i dunno how to search for him or ping him.. any idea how to do this ?

          how old is this comet bike ? never heard of this before..

              I think I read in ZMR thread that your budget was 20k or under 20k !! Correct me if I am wrong. I don't think within 20k u ll be able to source the V-Twin

                It was.. then we thought we'll expand the budget a bit.. maybe 10k more.. that's was wondering if i could get a v twin within this new range..

                    hey don't mock me dude.. i have no idea about the prices.. I've loved bikes for a long time now and i'm a mechanical engineer.. that's why i thought why not build a bike.. anyways now that i see getting a v twin is not within my budget i'll get a decent four stroke engine..

                        Get a two stroke engine, they are available dime a dozen and would be more powerfull than the 4chokers

                              Hey Bro, we are not mocking you down in anyways. I am sorry if my words hurt. I was just a bit practical thinking 20grands was too less that too for a V-Twin.

                              For sourcing engine in Gujri, I don't think its really a nice idea until u know someone or you yourself know that what you are picking is the right one. Generally you wont getting whole engine, it will be dismantled completely.

                              IMO its better u source a running engine and concentrate more on the body/charsi designs as per your requirements rather than spending time and money on repairing the engine which u source from Junk.

                              My 2 cents. You can very well get a RX or Bullet running bikes for cheaper rates. Get it and play around.

                              I would love to meet you once (even more will do)
