  • Need help buying a second hand

    I want to buy a 150cc motorcycle.
Here are some ads I checked out. Please tell me if the prices are okay.
I am a bike noob, so I don't know what they'd be worth.

    Honda Unicorn (March 2007) for 32,500 - done 18,700km
    (August 2006) for 29,500 - done 25,900km

    HH Achiever (2006) for 28,000 - done 30,000km
    (February 2006) for 35,000 - done 35,000km

    Apache (January 2007) for 35,000 - done 22,000km

Sorry, price is not the factor, but the present state of the steed is much important.

      To give you an example
2008 Pulsar clocking 36K in mint condition quoting higher price is better than 2009 Pulsar clocked 20K in a OK condition.

So check out the present state & how well those vehicles have been maintained so far.

PS - Why is the price of Unicorn less compared to HH & TVS? Doesn't Unicorn have a good resale value?

The 2007 unicorn would be the best bet, reliable engine, durable performance. Though what aargee said. The final condition of the vehicle is the benchmark.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

        - KTM Duke 200
        - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

In these I think go in this order:
          Honda Unicorn (March 2007) for 32,500 - done 18,700km
          (August 2006) for 29,500 - done 25,900km

Again value depend on the state of the vehicle. Would suggest you to get it check at nearest authorised service center or a trusted mechanic.
          Accelerating :)

I was actually wondering why Unicorn is available at a low price? Somehow I feel Unicorn more reliable in the 150 segment; yes, FZ to an extent too & R15 not for the masses, otherwise its more or equally reliable to Uni.

As Aargee said condition should be mint.
I would vote for Unicorn 2007 model for 32500rs BUT why is it quoted so low for a bike which has done only 18k kms Is it that resale value low or condition is bad?

PS - I sold my 06 Uni for 35000rs to a dealer which had done 34k kms. Condition was top notch !

                UPDATE!

There is another offer - A HH Karizma for 40k; clocked 20k km.
                How is this one?

ride these bikes for at least a kilometer, you'll come to know how much are they worth...

Well, the condition is good, according to the sellers. Of course, I'll go to a good mechanic and have the bike checked. But guys, I'm a complete n00b! How am I supposed to know so much about the condition???
I just intend to ask a mechanic whether the machine is worth what I am paying!
