  • Does anyone know what type of rear coupling Pulsar 150 classic have?

    I have a 2002 Pulsar 150 classic.

Anyone know what coupling it has on the back wheel / drum have?.

Spare parts guy is asking me if its 4-type coupling or 6-type coupling?

Am changing spoke wheels to mag ones.

    Thanks in advance

iirc it had a 4 type one, and the alloy wheels came with a 6 type one. So if you are upgrading to alloy wheels, you will need the 6 type coupling.

^^ where the rear sprocket fits to the hub that connects to the rear wheel, thats the coupling.

It has rubber dampers to absorb any jerks, and connects to the hub of the rear wheel.

item number 10, with the washers, bearings etc is the coupling. ( from a generic bike, not from pulsar btw )

but the bajaj service station spare parts guy said that i could get a 4 type alloy wheel.

should i go for one then if 4 type alloy wheel is available ?

i talked to him on the phone. was planning to visit him today evening.

go for the latest alloy wheel design, less troublesome if you want coupling rubber etc.

                  latest? could u please elaborate?
i thought the 135/150/180 had same alloys and the 200/220 had same alloys.

then should i change the coupling to six-type.
                  will that solve my issues

the bottom line is that i want wheels that will fit my stock hub which would have been very easy

                    Yes, it is 4 type.

Please keep us updated on how the conversion goes. I am thinking of doing the same provided it is not too costly and parts are straight fit.

@r2k2 it is 6 type coupling for spoked wheels and 4 type coupling for alloyed wheels with 17'' alloys OEM.The 18'' Mag wheels mostly require 6 type coupling so will be direct fit to stock set up.I was searching for 17'' alloys compatible with 6 type coupling for my 2003 Pul150 classic but so far not successful.

                        ???

going by the comments on this thread. Pulsar 150 Classic has 4-type coupling. And it also has stock spoked wheels attached to that 4-type coupling.

So my question to Pulsartronnix : How can the spoked wheel be 6-type couping??
