Finally got permanent registration number yesterday for my new bike..

But i haven't received my smart card[RC book] yet..i was told that i will be getting smart card and original insurance papers within 60 days.. they have just given me road tax receipt and insurance copy[not the original set]....
so am confused..are these documents enough to convince trafic cops incase they get hold of me??
i stay in Bangalore,so the chances of coming across traffic police and interceptors are high.....

    ............thanks.............

      Let's see what you need...
      1. Proof that the vehicle is not stolen - You proof of purchase which is the motorcycle sale receipt from the showroom
      2. Proof that the vehicle is registered - Receipt from RTO that the vehicle has applied for registration.
      3. Proof of Insurance - Receipt from the insurance company that the vehicle has applied for insurance
      4. License - You driving license
      5. Pollution certificate - For the first one year, you don't need this certificate

In addition to above, if you've tax receipt, add that too which will also be handy, as proof #2 is more than sufficient that tax is being paid.

      Hope this helps.

          Right
When you pay the road tax, you get the round token receipt, this is one. Also when you register the vehicle by paying a prescribed RTO fee, you'll get another receipt stating the vehicle is applied for registration from RTO. I meant this one in point #2.

IIRC, the round one will take sometime, but not the latter one.

I have the first receipt which says..
road tax period from 20-jul-2010 to life time tax...
            then the total tax amount...8183/-
so i guess there is no problem with the documents i have..
            thanks again....

AFAIK one does not require the pollution certificate for the first 3 months only........do you have any link to verify the "first one year part"?
