  • HELP: FZS : Fuel Indicator

my yamaha FZs has clocked only 2200km and i notice a fuel indicator problem.... the fuel indicator is always blinking even when the tank is about 6 litres full... according to the manual it blinks only when its running really low on fuel or on reserve... i tried emptying the tank and refueling but it didn't help... Its kinda disturbing i never know if i have fuel until it runs on reserve & the past few days i have to always open the tank cap and check if theres fuel... Is there anyway this can be fixed... Please help....
    thanks

Id suggest you go to the SVC...i doubt if there is much you can do about faulty DIGITAL Speedos.
and like i had told you before speedos of FZ from a certain batch are being replaced for free due to a corrupt SW...and your speedo has a warranty of 2years anyway.

or maybe you fuel censor has gone kaput??check with the SVC

This is a very common issue, but it has a very easy solution. Trust me.

If you see at the bottom of your fuel tank (right hand side), you will find a thin wire connected to a nozzle/connector. This connector gets dirty due to outside dust etc. Just clean the joint area with your hand or a cloth and switch ON the ignition again. And you are done !!

This step was explained to me by a Yamaha Service Engineer (not a mechanic) at Yamaha Factory Shop, Kolkata. The biggest and fully furnished Yamaha showroom/service center in Eastern India.
