and after rebuild will it works like a new. or become down.

again there is no porblem so how long it will run.
any body here who cleared 1,00,000 or more on pulsar 200,220 or 180cc.

      Hey shravan,
That a long running u have done on P200,Congrats and honestly i have never come across of P200 so far having that mileage. Well my odo now reads 26262 kms (just noticed that fancy number) and same here- No problems with engine as such.
Rebuilding could be an option only if the performance is really bad. i mean the normal running.
Symptoms: Unusual engine noise, less or inconsistent pick up, engine knocking, top end gone down.
Even i would like to know the workaround for these like- parts to be replaced (could be timing chain, piston rings, tappet adjust- Usual pulsar problems)
So Guys, who have clocked so many kms can post reviews , treatment done for such issues.........

Help!! reconstructing the engine for pulsar 200.

        Hi,

I own a pulsar 200cc 2007 model, its time to change the piston and all but before i do that i wanted some expert advise to make sure the mechanics dont make a fool of me. my queries are
        1) What are the most imp components while reconstructing the engine.
        2) For a smoother engine (like new) what components shud i looking for (to cut out the noise etc)
        3) I have a k&n filter on my 200 which is the 1100 is it the best suited for pulsar 200 or should i change it to 1060 (as fitting the k&n did not really make a huge difference infact the performance degraded the top end specially) what jet should i use with this filter if this is the right one.
        4) Will reconstructing the engine be different because of the K&N filter.
        5) How should i identify if my carb is good.
        6) Will the block piston crank rod and the carb of a pulsar 220 be fitted on my pulsar 200 what are the things i need to be careful of while doing this.

with all your help i can hope to save some time money and also save my bike from mechanical disasters...
        Waiting for your HELP....

              1) What are the most imp components while reconstructing the engine.

as far as i know, mostly only the block piston is required to be changed.
at the max the following follow.
crank bearings (if they dont come with block piston assly)
              tappets
              valve seals
              piston rings
              check valve seat for scoring.
replace head gasket, block gasket, gearbox gaskets. also, replace the kicker side oil seal and the gear level side oil seal as a precaution

              2) For a smoother engine (like new) what components shud i looking for (to cut out the noise etc)

change the rubber damper mounts (rubber bushes where the engine is mounted on the chasis)

              3) I have a k&n filter on my 200 which is the 1100 is it the best suited for pulsar 200 or should i change it to 1060 (as fitting the k&n did not really make a huge difference infact the performance degraded the top end specially) what jet should i use with this filter if this is the right one.

stay away from the k&n. it not only alows more dirt into the engine, but it ruins the carb and the valves. better not fit it.
if you are desperate for this, with the r1100, 130 size jet is required (bike runs slightly rich)

              4) Will reconstructing the engine be different because of the K&N filter.

If you mean about midifications required for k&n fitment, no mods are required. in your case, k&n is fitted directly on the carb.

              5) How should i identify if my carb is good.

if the bike idles smoothly at 1000 rpm, does not hitch at acceleration and if your bike can rev freely, the carb is good, however, to be sure, you can swap the carb with another one and check.
the diaphragm also needs to be checked but leave that to a professional and not your regular roadside mech.

              6) Will the block piston crank rod and the carb of a pulsar 220 be fitted on my pulsar 200 what are the things i need to be careful of while doing this.

best is to put a pm to Joel

this list is going to help me a lot

                2) For a smoother engine (like new) what components shud i looking for (to cut out the noise etc)

change the rubber damper mounts (rubber bushes where the engine is mounted on the chasis)

Will surely look into this as well

                3) I have a k&n filter on my 200 which is the 1100 is it the best suited for pulsar 200 or should i change it to 1060 (as fitting the k&n did not really make a huge difference infact the performance degraded the top end specially) what jet should i use with this filter if this is the right one.

will replace my k&n with the stock filter

                4) Will reconstructing the engine be different because of the K&N filter.

the diaphragm also needs to be checked but leave that to a professional and not your regular roadside mech.

What is a diaphragm and will it be necessary?

                6) Will the block piston crank rod and the carb of a pulsar 220 be fitted on my pulsar 200 what are the things i need to be careful of while doing this.
