i had the same question but it has been solved u know first mix sae 90/140 and kerosene or diesel but kerosene is best becos it is less reactive .then chain clean with the mixture and after the mix drip off again lubricate the chain with sae 90/140 oil only ...it is the best way to lubricate a chain and cheap too sae 90/140 oil only cost 90-95 rupees and no tension of ring swelling

It would be better to avoid Kerosene for 'O' ring equipped chain.
Use Diesel or best a can from Motul/OKS

Since your bike does not have a chain guard, i suggest that u oil your chain after riding 250kms or when your chain makes the irritating sound which i don't know how to describe.use sae 90 grade of castrol brand as the local gear oil is very thin and would need frequent oiling. always pour oil in between the linkages one at a time on both sides(after cleaning throughly with diesel or kerosene)it is a bit frustating and time consuming,but the end result is good.

There might be different grade oil or lubricants proposed depending upon the chain type. SAE 90 oil is used for lubrication while diesel may be used for cleaning prior to the lubrication. I use diesel for cleaning and Castrol SAE 90 oil for lubrication. usually method of chain lubrication is aptly illustrated in the user manual of the bike itself. But still the Layman way is to
> Place the bike on the center stand.
> Clean the dirt/grime off the chain using pressure wash with water.
> Let the chain dry.
> DO NOT CLEAN O-ring CHAIN WITH KEROSENE. That causes the O-rings to swell as the self-evaporating tendency of kerosene is next to negligible. Clean the chain with diesel using a nylon brush.
> Let the chain dry on its own.
> Lubricate the chain on the inside, rear sprocket region afterwards with the recommended grade of oil or lubricant by turning the wheel in opposite direction. Turn it at least 15-20 times to let the lubricant penetrate deep.
> Wait for 15-20 minutes and gently wipe off the excess oil, if any, with a soft cloth and be careful that the swabs should not be entering into the chain.
> The lubrication cycle should ideally be between 350-400kms."I can handle the pain... until it hurts"

OKS spray is what they use in bajaj Showroom for its open chain O ring chains.. my friends say its worth every penny, 370rs, and makes drive chain quite smooth. give it a try.CBR 650F <02/2017>

Followed all the instructions...of open chain maintenance.
Biking feels super smooth.
but........
I'm confused about chain slackness ,remember on our swing arm of P220 (left side i,e chain side)there is a plastic covering to protect bruising of chain with the swing arm.
the upper portion(closer to the swing arm) of my bike's chain rubs with that plastic covering....is my chain loose??

i have R15 what to do for it no center stand and i cant spend 2000rs on padock stand any other solution?We xbhpians pledge to wear helmet while riding

Kerosene too can be safely used.
It is highly recommended NOT to use kerosene on your O-ring chains. It will damage the rubber rings for sure!! Go for diesel to clean it after it has been pressure washed with water and dried. For Motul lube users, if you feel it tends to splash more, you can go for the foamy lubes like OKS or TVS chain spray. They are worth the money you put in
