  • 150 chain cover

I own a 150 UG IV... I've heard people talk about gettin 220's chain cover fixed on to there 150s..
My question is.. can i just get the chain cover removed (not changed).. I mean will the open chain without any chain cover cause any problems
Also wat might be the cost of 220's chain cover, or whatever thats there over the chain in 220 in Bangalore??

    Query approved.

Pulsar 220 doesn't have a chain cover, its open. Also keeping the chain open on your P150 will cause it to wear out quickly because it will be exposed to all the elements like dust, mud, etc. that will cause it to lose the lubrication fast and get damaged.

I was actually referring to this (the marked part)

dono wat it's called... I guess even 180UG4 has it... wat would that cost...

"Also keeping the chain open on your P150 will cause it to wear out quickly because it will be exposed to all the elements like dust, mud, etc. that will cause it to lose the lubrication fast and get damaged" does this mean that 180s' and 220s' chains need frequent cleaning and lubrication as they are open

Dude its called the half chain cover and it costs just 90 bucks. I got it installed on the third day after buying my bike. My bike has run 15k kms and the chain and sprocket are still fine. No substantial wear marks on either the sprocket or the chain. You just need to lube it frequently. And if you want a naked chain please atleast get this half chain cover because all the mud/water that the wheel splashes on the swingarm side all falls on the chain if its fully naked. If you install this chain cover it will protect the chain from this mudslinging by the rear wheel. The kinda looks it gives to your bike, its worth it!
Also get rid of the saree guard.
