  • Doubts regarding Unicorn and a good Service Centre For Unicorn in Bangalore

    Hello Everybody,

I'm new to this forum and i have gone through various posts and i have learnt quite a bit about bikes .I would like to thank everyone in this forum for sharing information.

Anyways, I'm in a bit of a dilemma right now. I had bought my Unicorn in August 2008(the same day india got a gold medal in olympics ) and i had used the bike till march 2009, completing the 4 free services. After that i got transfered to chennai and then to calcutta for almost 15 months. So during this period, my bike was hardly used as dad used to just start it once a week and ride it for 100m. Now i'm finally back home, and i have started to use the bike.

I know the bike needs a service after this long gap, but it was hardly used and it had just got serviced before i left. Now to be honest, i wasn't satified with the service as i feel they hardly did anything. And i want to give my bike for serviceing, as i feel that it isn't as smooth as it was before, plus the mileage is around 40km, which is really less. Also i've noticed some oil leakage from the front right suspension.

Now i have the following questions:

1)Do i change the engine oil and brake oil?If yes then which oil do i go for? I know i have to go for 20W40 grade oil, but was wondering if i can use Shell/Castrol.

2)Where can i give the bike for service in Bangalore? I don't prefer to give the bike to the honda guys because i don't feel they do it right.

    3) Today while riding, there was too much traffic on the road, i went close to a footpath and on breaking the bike skid and fell, I'm sure the speed was less than 10kmph, but it was really weird the bike just fell down, and i was standing.I noticed there was sand and oil near the footpath, could that be the reason? It was really freaky the way the bike fell, it was as if i was sitting on a stationary bike and it suddenly fell. But i did notice a lot of skid mark on the sand. I'm freaked out by the incident.

Hope you guys can advice me

    Regards

Head to Saphire Honda and meet Mr.Nazir who is the service manager there and talk personally. Very Knowledgeable guy and also ask him if Zeeshan can service your bike. To the best of reviews I ve got, Saphire is the best service center for Honda's so far.

The cause for the skid must be the sand here in bangalore near the footpath you can find sand on almost all the roads and braking on a ground with sand/oil even if it is in small amount also the tyres tend to skid. Do not worry just keep an eye on the road surface also before hard braking. Good Luck. Keep on riding.

as Shreeni0403 suggested pls meet mr. Nazir Husain the service manager in Saphire Honda, JP nagar and request him whether Zeeshan can service your bike.

My 2009 Uni is serviced only by Zeeshan from 2nd service
