  • Help With Chrome Plating and Painting

    Hello Friends,

I have decided to go for a mixture of Chrome and Black combination for my Bullet 350. I tried to find places in Pune for this but it seems no one does the both jobs together. Either they paint or they do chrome plating. I have a few questions in case anyone has done this before or knows how it is done:

Do you know a place in Pune where I can get both done together?

If I eventually have to do both separately, what should I do first, chrome plating or painting?

Any idea on how much it would cost?

Thanks in advance for your help!

      Hi,
Is the Chrome you were speaking about for the Tank, Mudguard and the side panels?

You can never find a place where both the jobs are done together. Even one says he can then he will get it done separately himself being a middle man.

You should always do chrome work first and the final work should be the Paint, as painting is done skillfully where as the chrome is just dip the material in some chemicals and electroplating.

Before giving for chrome plating be sure of dents on the surface, as after plating small dents even will be highlighted.

Thanks for your suggestion! Yes, I am talking about tank, mud guard and side panel.

Any idea how much it would cost?

Here in Coimbatore the cost for plating alone, will be for tank (for 2 sides alone) 800.00, for side box covers ( 2 Nos.) 300.00, Mudguards with stay rods 1000.00 (per pair).

Once the work is over go for the Paint and don't forget to coat it with Dupoint paint, it gives a shiny finish and also lasts longer compared to other paints.

Sorry of this is a stupid question, but since I have never done this before, just need to confirm if I need to dismantle the parts to get them chrome plated? Do I need to take out the tank and the mudguards?

Off course, you have to remove every part that has to be plated. They will dip the parts into a chemical and electroplate. Even Painting is easy while the parts are removed
