  • More for Achiever

    Hi Everyone!
I own a 2006 model HH Achiever. Its been 4 years of excellent riding and I've clocked 50000 kms with it.
Now I want to increase its performance without deviating too much from stock components since they are most often the best pick.
Some details which might be relevant:
    Spoked wheel
Drum brakes (gives me enough bite even to this date)
    Top Speed achieved: 116 kmph
Current economy: 52 kmpl (reduced from 60 kmpl in 2007)

    Please suggest some performance mods.

Thanks in adv to all xbhpians

dont do anything with the engine!!!

you are cribbing at a milage of 52 , after any sort of mods, it will definately drop to 40-45 and then you may start crying. so better not mod the engine.

      else
      1 get a k&N
2 go to a tuner, upjet,
      3 get a tuned exhaust,
      4 drop weight(even your will do ) , and
      5 put a synthetic oil.

if you have got more nuts,
      6 overbore the engine,
      7 increase the comp ratio,
8 get better spark plug and wires and ignition coil, enjoy..

if you still have got more nuts, try
      9 supercharging your engine.

if still you want more, get a sbk (it will be cheaper to run and maintain than the headache of a madified (yes you read it right) bike

but remember, there is no free ride. you are bound to have more headaches and lower f.e and still no garuntee if your bike will become a pocket rocket. and a personal piece of advice, get a new bike as a spare bike in case this breaks down .

i am modifying my bike since february this year and i am still stuck at up jetting which is the second poing in the above list to be done on the bike

i am not trying to demoralise you but just listing the problems faced in general

        Thanks

        Thanks Rockrz!
Thats a lot of options.....but they'll need a pro to do it.
        I've already got the K&N.
        40-45 is ok for me.
Please lemme know if you know someone in Kolkata or Bhubaneswar who can do these mods.
        Thks in adv.

to start with, mine is a hunk

i have done the following mods:-

          k&n r 1100
          pulser 200 carb with tps.
jets of 35 pilot and 145 main..

the problem with the stock carb is that it is very restrictive( and i did not want to fiddle with the original carb) is usefull at the time of reverting back.

you will also have to change the original mikuni carb.. get a ucal 28 or 29 whichever is on pulser 200.. and upjet.. you wont get a pocket rocket but the pickup will increase.. mine does power wheelies easily in 1st gear.. (though i never stunt)

this upjetting thing will take you about 2 months to get right.. my advice is to get hold of 140, 145 and 150 size jet and try one by one... its trial and error..

till this step a tuner is not essential but it is better if u can take some help

for the further steps, even i am still in the process so cant comment now.

btw, my main reason for mod was not power or acceleration or the sound, i just wanted the option of washing the filter anytime anywhere.. the current status of my bike is just i later decided to give tuning a try.. also, i got it done by chinmay dangre..
