  • Rain messed up my bike

After the rain a few bolts on my bike have got rusted.. The side stand on my r15 is also jammed, I need to put a lot of effort to move it up and down. The ignition has also got some problems.. The key just doesnt move there also I need to put some effort, insert key 3-4 times and then the key moves..

What should I do to fix these things

        Yeah!not a big deal!
In rainy seasons, ever now and then spray oil on these exposed nuts/bots to prevent it from rusting!....like i do!
        Smoke rubber,not tobacco.

WD40 is the way to go!
it comes in a little can too.. Costs just 55 bucks.
It will smoothen out every squeaky part on your bike. Also use the fine tube that comes with it to spray inside the slit of the ignition. Spraying it inside the switches protects the switches from water damage like short ckt or hardening/jamming too

^^ go to any hardware store, and ask for zorrick, by pidilite. works like a charm. same as WD-40.

As to what is WD-40, Let me google that for you

As every one suggested WD40 can do the job,

but be very careful in lubricating the Lock Barrel, if more oil let into the lock, you will end up in spoiling the lock barrel (the levers in the barrel will become loosened and start acting out of control).

The lid on the top of the lock will let water only if the rain is heavy, put some 4-5 drops of oil to fix the problem, also once you put oil your keys while removing, will bring greasy sediment from inside of the lock barrel for some time.(be cautious before putting the keys in your pocket).

Can I apply WD-40 on the chain also? I've noticed some rust on the chain aswell

^^ yup, but zorrick will also do the same trick and is slightly milder.

Couldn't find WD-40 so bought Zorrick and it did its charm Everything is back to normal now. Also about the rusted areas, Should I just apply zorrick over it and leave it? Rust will go on its own?
