Is my warranty void?
When I bought my Yamaha R15, the SVC guys asked me if I wanted to install a central locking system in the bike, as I had to park it on roadside, I got it installed.. Now thing is sometimes the battery of my bike gets very low even if I have ridden it for 15-20 kms also. Last night, I was riding the bike and suddenly a warning sign came and switched off in 20 -40 secs on the bike's display.. I reached my destination and after 30 mins when I came back and tried to self start the bike, it wasnt starting.. then I had to push start it..

central locking is fitted by SVC when you purchased bike,so its Yamaha responsibility to change your battery they should have told you before installing the warranty would be void,if not then get it change immediately and get rid of that rubbish central locking.Originally posted by HotAntivirus View PostWhen I bought my Yamaha R15, the SVC guys asked me if I wanted to install a central locking system in the bike, as I had to park it on roadside, I got it installed.. Ideally, yes your bike's warranty is void. But warranty is a funny thing! You can always go back to stock and try a different SVC and ask them to check the problem under warranyOriginally posted by HotAntivirus View PostWhen I bought my Yamaha R15, the SVC guys asked me if I wanted to install a central locking system in the bike, as I had to park it on roadside, I got it installed.. Also you can ask your SVC people to check it under warranty itself as they themselves suggested installing it. Argue with them if they disagree and threaten them that you will go to higher authorities if they don't agree.

Congrats for getting R15 for yourself.
Hope you have preserved the bill / invoice / anything that proves Yamaha svc installed that device on your bike.
If so, you are in safe zone, you can push the blame on svc.
In fact there will be no blame game at all.
If you dont have anything to prove it is done by svc, get it removed first.
Try and befriend svc mechanics.
It always comes handy.
