if you think you will gain something after doing this change then you are mistaken.. then also if you want to gofor them its fine.. its just that 180 plates are thicker then 150's no other difference.. practically the only difference you may feel after changing is increase in speed in proportion to the increase in engine rpm.

@Sajit: i don't think the clutch bell of the 150 can hold one more plate. The clutch bell of the 150 and 180 have different part numbers so they must differ in dimensions too. The clutch plates for the pulsar are the same for the 150 and the 180..but the bell differs.

If there's a diff in starting then it should felt all the way as the clutch will be engaged while on more right? Am expecting the clutch will be bit more harder due to the excess plate but just want to get a user feedback. Any takers?
I haven't tried this but thought of doing this...:P the mechanic told me its possible because most of the parts of pulsar are same and if I want to have 180 clutch plate then I should buy one pressure plate and one clutch plate more from any mechanic even used will do but i'll not feel deference.
clutch will be bit more harder thats what I'm saying you will feel clutch more hard due to excess plates.

I have been using the 180 clutch plates and one thing is there, they last much longer! lol

Other than that, there is a small difference in the transmission but as u get used to it, u don't really feel the difference. But it is pretty useful in the ghats section where my bike would struggle sometimes with my weight (and that of the pillion). It still does but not so much with a 180 clutch plate. And ya I got it done from Reddys.

No I heard that the power delivery is quicker than the stock in low gears and thats why am interested. Good to have we've got one person using this setup, lets wait for his comments.

Pavan, even my mech says the same, that it can be done only after the bell is replaced

Thanks for the reply and lets wait for some time for a user review.

Hey, u r one of the guys I've been looking for. How did u managed to fit into a 150 bell? Have you replaced the clutch cover with 180 along with the plates? How was the overall performance?

Life span of the clutch plate is quite good with the 150 if its used properly, my present plates are already done more than 40-50K. But nothing beats the TVS 2 strokes clutch plates 1 lac KMs.

If the difference as u said is just marginal then its not worth to go for. I am looking for a slight pickup in the low gears and if this mod helps then I am in. But your last statement makes me interesting, gives you more power delivery even with a pillion rider.

Can you elaborate bit more about the overall difference?

Have you installed 5 or 6 clutchplates?
